  1. Has anyone attempted to change the older screen with the more newer version seen in the more recent IS 300H's which have a bigger screen? Would be good to hear if anyone has knowledge on this and if its feasible. Example of the newer and bigger screen below: Thanks 🙂
  2. Good day! I am a new member here ... and am buying an 54 plate low mileage SC430 ... I do love my music (Spotify) and need hands-free telephone ,,,, and live traffic on the sat nav. I live in North Devon. Is there anyone there to advise me on the best way forward? with thanks, Varun
  3. I have a 2016 ct200h which has the model of satnav that uses a micro sd card which is accessed behind a flap below the radio. I have very stupidly managed to damage the card reader by applying excess pressure when inserting and removing a card. Does anyone know if the card reader is a) repairable or b) which part I need to think about procuring or c) any other solution! I dont absolutely need the satnav of course but I hate it when something does not work!
  4. Hi Guys I have a Lexus IS300h 2013 model. My current navigation system is "Lexus Premium Navigation (13MM)" The map I have been advised to purchase by https://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ is 15MM EMVN 2019Q2 (Spring 2020 Map Update), Item: PW675-00A43. would this even be compatible with my car? ORDER DETAILS PARTNUMBER: 1 x PW675-00A43 86271-48349;86271-48349;PW675-00A43; PRODUCT TOTAL € 165.00 FREIGHT € 20.56 SUBTOTAL: € 185.56 VAT € 38.97 TOTAL COST ALL INCLUSIVE: € 224.53 € 224.53 is just ridiculous for an update can someone recommend a reliable place to get it for free or cheaper price? I have been looking online and either the year of the car doesn't match or the part number. Few of these pages I have been looking at are: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-Premium-Navigation-Micro-SD-Card-Sat-Nav-EU-UK-RUS-MAP-Ver-2-2020/282672641279?epid=15037773983&hash=item41d09a34ff:g:ZYoAAOSwmY1alm8a (it says "LEXUS IS - 2014 on" https://toyotamaps.online/map-updates/toyota-lexus-navigation-gen9-microsd-update (also says IS (2014-present)) and https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/2020-2021-lexus-premium-sat-nav-sd-card-navigation-map-update-652-p.asp (but the PN is PZ445-US335-0U) Can someone help me to get the right map?
  5. Lexus still has not been able to locate my logbook so I was given another number today with which to verify my vehicle. From the MyLexus point of view, this appears to have worked. The car is deemed verified; it says it is connected to the multimedia; and I can send journeys to the car. Unfortunately once I get to the car it's another matter. Any attempt by any means of typing in my Lexus ID and password is met by a could not connect message, "ID=195". This has come up before on these forums but I reckon I am doing everything advised. Any further thoughts?
  6. Hello, Thought I would ask... I have a Garmin Nuvi 30... quite small. I have not used it for ages but recently resurrected it. I have the thing that sticks it to the windscreen but was wondering if anyone locates their SatNav differently? I have seen various solution on internet sites...
  7. Hi all, Has anyone bought a SAT NAV update from this place? Seems to get good reviews etc and loads cheaper than getting it form ebay. Also like some other copies you dont need to disconnect the battery as part of install. https://satnavstore.com/
  8. Lots of places & roads etc must have changed in 10 years! I bought my lovely car IS 250 2010 Reg around 3 years ago and I'm aiming to keep it for as long as I can. Only do a small mileage and it's currently got around 41,000 miles on the clock. I usually have an annual service + an MOT with a private guy, but was wondering how much it would cost to update the Sat Nav - I assume it's an HDD version but where is the disk etc? Where's the best place to purchase an update & also how does one fit it?
  9. So have just aquired a 2009 IS250 (pre-facelift) and have a small issue with the CD-player skipping (head unit 86120-53390). It happens on any CD but always towards the end which suggests it might be an optical tracking issue. I'm going to upgrade the Nav software which I'm hoping will also update the head unit firmware and fix the issue. However if not or it's more mechnical, I'm thinking to not just replace but upgrade the head unit. The current model (8611) doesn't support MP3, but I'm wondering if something like the P8601 version would. The units look identical but would like to confirm if any one else has experience in doing this and do they know an upgraded head unit will place nicely with the Nav system? Thanks!
  10. Hey! So i have a Lexus is 220d 2009. I have the stock audio system. The one without touch screen. When i was looking for Lexus for sale, there was not even one car with the touch screen. Could someone with any experience with Lexus audiosystems tell me if i can or cannot rip the old system out and replace it with the touch screen unit. And also please tell me if i need adapters, re wiring etc... Thank you - Ozzo
  11. Picked up my NX300h premier and was told that it was possible to include speed camera notification warning on the sat nav system. Anyone know how to set this up?
  12. I thought it may be useful for all Forum members with or contemplating Premium Nav to outline my experiences with it over the past month - as I seem to have encountered most of the problems but also some of the solutions. Fundamentally, Premium Nav adds an Internet capacity to your satnav. This enables it to pick up traffic conditions (and offer alternative routes), note parking options in cities, allow online searches (which will provide phone numbers as well as navigations options) and send journeys from your phone/tablet/computer to your car in advance. (It adds a few more things too, like an advanced reverse camera and DVD player, but they're not relevant here. For the record, it also adds the capacity to save a journey to a USB and transfer this to the car that way.) The first thing is you need to register with MyLexus. Previously there was a Lexus Portal, but this has been replaced. However, the fact is there has been significant confusion over this. NOTE 1: Your sign-in name (an email address with MyLexus) is *not* your User ID. Your User ID by default will be the first part of your email address, but you are wise to change this as it may clash with others (or just cause confusion with past portal registrations). You change it my going to "My Details" and "Edit" and it is at the bottom. Once you have registered you need to register your Multimedia device. This is a 16-digit number (to be typed in without hyphens, even though they appear on the screen). I found it easier to do this online than in the car, though both are options. You also need to verify the vehicle. For this you need a six-figure number from your logbook (like ABC12D) - this is a chore when you lease because you need to get a scan from Lexus Financial Services or the lease company; and even more of a chore when they lose the logbook... NOTE 2: If you cannot get this number, ask your dealer for the one they use for demonstrators. That seems to work. Now the key is to connect to the Internet. This can be tough, at least with an iPhone. NOTE 3: You need to have tethering on on the phone (Apple calls this "Personal Hotspot"; other companies use slightly different names). In theory you can connect for tethering via Bluetooth or WiFi. For some reason I cannot do the former with my NX (worked fine on my IS). The latter is a bizarre hit and miss and seems to require not only that the Personal Hotspot be on, but that the specific page be open. Weird. NOTE 4: This is where I get a little lost... Via Setup > Navigation there is a Connected Services menu which allows "Delete Username and Password" or "Change Username and Password". If you try the latter, you need your *User ID* (not the email address) and password. It may be worth keeping these short! You then click "Save" and that should simply save it - but if you are unlucky, it will go to connecting and a lovely error message. This means your tethering has broken down, your password is wrong, you've forgotten your User ID, MyLexus does not feel like working, or you've the wrong colour socks on today... If you get through this, try your luck with an Online Search on "Navigation > Destination". Here, you will go to "Connecting" but hopefully not for long. If you do, the above paragraph applies. If you don't, you're in business. NOTE 5: My success rate in currently about one in four... ALL TIPS WELCOME! :)
  13. Hi all, Just bought a ct200h and all is great apart from the satnav continues giving directions whilst I’m on the phone. I have looked through the manual and sat in the car for the last hour trying to find away of muting the satnav whilst on a call but I’m either thick or you can’t do this... Any advice would be gratefully received. john
  14. Hi all, im new to this forum and am a proud new lexus is200 owner. I recently decided to remove the factory stereo and install an aftermarket double din stereo, upon completing the installation i noticed the satnav screen is gone blank and will just go crazy whenever the ignition is turned over the screen just flips up and down. I searched the internet for a solution and came across one post which was a guy selling a device on ebay what tricks the car into thinking the factory stereo is still there however he has no longer got any devices left and doesnt sell them. Does anyone know any other way to get it working again? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
  15. My sat nav is driving me crazy it only sends me the long way to my destination and never the quickest way I thought I went into the settings to try help with speeding it up but always sends me the worst way possible end up on the iPhone maps 😖
  16. I have just bought the CT200h Executive 2016 with built in Sat Nav and reversing camera and I also subscribe to Pocketworld GPS for Safety Camera updates which can be downloaded in many formats including Tom Tom OV2. Is there any way of updating speed camera location - The link shows an image of the Map Data which may or may not be helpful https://photos.app.goo.gl/NKcaHnD3VhYJ6Wpw1 I also thought the Sat Nav software was on a Micro SD Card but as yet have not managed to find a slot - any ideas ? Any help would be appreciated and ease the frustration.
  17. Just to quick queries long-term owners may be able to answer. 1. When I set a destination on the satnav, on both my previous IS and my wife's CT, it was not necessary to click "Start" - after a short delay to allow you to add further destinations to the route, the navigation started anyway. However, it appears the NX requires this (and it cannot be done by voice control). Is this correct? Or is there a setting which allows this to be changed? 2. The boot is automatic (so far so good), but it has to close all the way before you can lock the car. As it takes a while, I can see this getting slightly irritating. Can this be set so the car is locked in advance of the boot closing?
  18. Hi all, Has anyone updated there factory SATNAV to the latest version? Without having to pay a fortune for the disc does anyone know where best to get hold of one?? kr
  19. Hi I've read through a post on this site from years ago and didn't get the information i was looking for. I have a 2016 Lexus IS300H Executive edition with satnav. I am trying to get mirror link to work, i have a comparable samsung model. Ive plugged the phone in and my phone screen says connected to mirror link device. The screen in the car does not have the option highlighted to start mirror link. Is it possible to resolve this somehow? or why its not working? Thanks this is my first post!
  20. hi guys posted this topic on another forum, think i got the wrong one ( new to doing this) i put an address in the nav ok but the voice instruction doesn't work, also the voice recognition has stopped working i would be very glad of some help. Brian
  21. Hi All! I am a recent proud owner for a 2003(53) plate Lexus LS430. I picked this car up fairly cheap after reading they were reliable and they seem very powerful and comfortable! Anyways there was just one small issue with the car when I got it, the SatNav doesn't work. It throws up the 'Please insert correct map disk' error. Now after some forum scouting and general Googling I found a guide on how to remove the SatNav disk and clean/check it. However it turns out there is no map disk in there at all! Further Googling got me to the Lexus site where you buy the Nav disks from and heres where I encountered the issue at hand. The site asks me to first of all select my current Navigation system, then enter my current part number. As I have no part I can't enter the number and also can't see what generation my system is, so I have no idea what to enter here. Any help would be vastly appreciated! The car is a late 2003(53) Facelift LS430. Cheers George
  22. Hi There, Had my IS300h Executive for 6 weeks now. No regrets on the car, the SatNav however is not great however. Does anyone know how whilst in a journey to a destination to search for POIs near the destination ? I could do this with my last car (Focus) and it's really handy for finding supermarkets, McDonalds etc near where I am going. Looked everywhere in the menus - can seem to find it ? TIA Andhy
  23. Hi Forum I am wondering if anyone can give me a bit of advice in respect to Satnav on the IS220d, i am thinking of upgrading to a 2009 model 220D but it does not have the satnav upgrade so i am wondering if i purchased this model is it possible to buy the satnav unit and just fit it or does this require a wiring loom on this model as well ? It is a really lovely car but i would really love to have a sat nav unit as well. Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has been there or maybe done this themselves Regards Mike.
  24. Hello, Does anyone know ... Do updated Satnav disks influence how the Satnav picture looks, or is it just the data that's more up to date? Regards.
  25. I got my new car today. Black S-line with add-on sat nav, rear sensors and one or two other add-ons. I'd wanted Sonic Titanium but they couldn't get in in time. Car replaced a superb Honda Accord Diesel which I'd had from new for 9 and a half years and averaged about 44mpg. The only part I ever put in it was an accelerator sensor, just the other day. I did 112000km in it. I chose the IS300h because of what I read of its Honda-like reliability and very high UK owner satisfaction. I live in Cork in Ireland. I had taken it for a short test drive before I bought it. Impressions: 1. Salesman, a top chap told me to read the instructions on the Satnav. Said it was complicated. Others had said the same. I worked it all out in about 10 minutes use myself without instructions. I thought that the data entry system with the wheel of letters was really slick. My car has the rotary wheel rather than the pad thing. I'm really pleased with that. I've used a Garmin for years and it wasn't the best. 2. Gearbox. I love it. There is a little lag before it picks up, as people say, but then there's plenty of poke. The hill-start is a new thing for me. Brilliant. I'd driven an automatic for a week once in Canada but not for years. I love this. 3. Seats very comfortable. Didn't get electric or heated ones as I had in the Honda. 4. Quiet. Honda about the same at motorway speeds but much noisier crawling etc. 5. MPG. On my first day about 50 miles or so, 43mpg. I'll learn to improve this. 6. The foot/handbrake. The pedal cannot be felt through my shoes or my wife's shoes. You just press down with your foot against the side of the well and it works it. 7. Entertainment system great. I've a USB memory stick plugged it and it works and I've several megabytes of music on my phone which the Bluetooth plays without problem. 8. The cruise control is better than the Honda's in that you can reset it. The Honda did have a trim for it so you could tweak it up and down, but if you braked, you had to set it again, the slow way. Lexus better. 9. I'd read a good bit of the instructions before getting the car. A help. 10. Am I glad I bought it? I think I chose really well!
