Description

Reluctor ring or abs ring

2001 sc430 owned since 2008.

It's been a few months and it's been a grinding noise coming from the brakes with a whirring sound. After reading some forums it looks like it was the ABS pump I bought one one off eBay pay for £600 unfortunately the brake light anti skid and abs lights stayed on.. after putting it on a diagnostic machine yes yes I should have done this at first it showed the rear speed sensor on the driver side I ordered one off eBay which did say it would fit for the ridiculously low price of £2.03 getting to the actual driveshaft was quite fun 2 Days Later after fitting the part I took it back to the diagnostics because the lights are still on and it showed two different speeds because the bore of the replacement was the same as the original that the outer diameter was smaller than the original hence one side the driver side showed 60 mph and the opposite side should 25 mph I then ordered the parts of reluctor ring for £88 and some pence I was assured these were the correct parts after fitting them today day I found they are not the right size I contacted Gavin he was very helpful I gave him the details of the size required which hopefully should be 94 mm on the outer diameter rather than 96 mm which stopped rotation of the drive shaft he did say he'd make some and send them to me by Wednesday I have some pictures but beware please the SC430 has different reluctor rings of this particular year the outer diameter should not be 96 mm it should be 94 mm maximum
