  1. Try the process again. It's been posted on several sites here in the U.S. and it works just fine. And it's permanent until you disconnect the battery or switch the alarm back on. It also works for some recent Toyotas (albeit turning an ignition key instead of pressing Start). I turned the annoying alarm off on my Toyota Matrix using this procedure. And yes, I'm one of those "dumb Americans". LOL. :) But I do wear my seatbelt! There are times I want to stop at the mailbox and don't want the alarm annoying me until I hit the driveway!
  2. I'd take the ivory leather, but not the cloth. I'd be worried it would stain too easily. Furthermore, I like the ivory when paired with the wood trim as it makes the interior look more rich, warm and inviting; but not the metal -- it's too "cold." But this is a personal preference. To see a picture, here's a link to the lexus.jp website. If you go to the bottom of the page and click the 4th picture from the left, there is a shot of the ivory fabric. http://lexus.jp/models/is/design/color.html
  3. The 1stgen IS was really a rebadged Toyota and sold as a Lexus around the world. It was assembled on a Kanto line along with other Toyota brand cars. Since Lexus is now a brand by itself in Japan, and they don't sell the cars as Toyota's, I understand from numerous sources that the IS is now made in the Tahara plant where the other Lexus cars are built. There's also a 2nd plant coming online to build the IS as they expect to sell a larger number of them, but I can't remember the plant's name.
  4. are you still in the states? have you tried contacting a dealer here or Lexus parts distributor? I'm sure they can look up the part for you. For example: http://www.lexus-parts.com/prodlist.asp?ModelID=150 Maybe you can have it shipped back home to you.
  5. I believe those are the 16" alloys. Are the tire sizes the same on all 4 wheels? We don't have that alloy size as an option in the USA, but it would be nice to have a set for some winter tires. Just curious...
