  1. Can't find where I saw it about a week ago - but I'm sure it was IS200d 0-62 in 10.2secs
  2. F-Sport spec is Auto only and has Cruise Control and if specced with MM it has Traffic.
  3. A front page news item today on http://thepassionatepursuit.com/ Bear in mind this relates to the US. A number of details on the 2009 Lexus IS have been released by Lexus in the latest issue of their magazine. New Grille New front & rear bumpers Integrated turn signals in the door mirrors Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management(VDIM) now standard on the IS 250 New color: Truffle Mica Discontinued color: Desert Sage Metallic New woodgrain trim: Dark grey bird's eye maple Discontinued woodgrain trim: Auburn bird's eye maple New 17" & 18" wheels Wallet Smart Key standard on IS 350, optional on IS 250 As I said, bear in mind that this relates to the US. I know it won't - but I wish it meant that we were getting the IS350....
  4. No need to apologise :) The 2 from the 250 badge looks very similar to the 3 from a 350 badge and also it depends how the light catches it in a picture. I'm one of the ones who, when the car was announced, were disappointed that they decided not to market the 350 in the UK. I had done the sums and this time around I would have stretched to a 350. Oh well. But I have a 250 and am very proud of it and I won't masqerade as if it was a 350 :D Yes, filling up the space was my original idea - but I can see what you mean about too much yellow - just down to personal taste. I think that on the lighter car colours it looks good whereas on the darker colour car that you photoshopped it's too much of a contrast. As you say, when you produce cars to be sold in a many countries there are many different plate sizes to take account of. Thanks for all of your thoughts/ideas.
  5. Okay, okay, to save you the bother of copying the image onto your desktop and enlarging it to see if it really does say 350 here is an magnified view of the same picture. I might be sad with a bigger plate but 350 badge....no.
  6. I couldn't make the hyperlink thing work, I hope that I'm ok putting a supplier name here (don't want a moderator to bash me) Supplier -> www.craigsplates.co.uk/shaped-rear-number-plate.html £42.99 for the pair - front and special size rear. Yes, I think you can add Slogans, Badges and Borders. Sold/bought as 'show plates' as these do not require to show supplier details. Since I sent the template they have a 'stock' of IS250 rears and list it on their specials page. Send a template and it can take 3-4 weeks turnaround.
  7. Thanks for all of your comments/opinions - I'm going to give this one last go. :D Straight comparison, same car, same reg no, almost the same angle..... 1st pic is standard rear plate as delivered from Lexus Dealership and 2nd pic is my new, improved, more integrated, finished look........ What do you think?
  8. Just looked up phat on Wikipedia & that’s OK - it’s a compliment. :) No, didn’t do it myself (i'm not even allowed to decorate) – I found a number plate supplier who will make you up whatever size/shape you want provided you send them a cardboard template. I used to have MY 04 LEX on the previous car as well! As soon as you have the letters MY at the front of the plate the DVLA know what people will do….MY LEX, MY JAG, MY BMW….etc…..do a search they are all priced at £799.00. But at least if you buy from the DVLA it's all inclusive whereas any of the other sites are always more than the DVLA. Boticure – love it! Although you are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
  9. There are a lot of these standard rear plates around… Even some of these deeper rear plates…. But there aren’t many with a rear plate that fills the space… For some time now owners of Rover 75, Aston Martin DB9, Jaguar X Type & S Type have had a shaped custom fit rear plate that fills out the aperture perfectly rather than as the pics above. Thought it was about time.....
  10. The D900 gets some good reviews. I spent some time checking out the phones most likely to integrate - I've spent nearly £3k on the the MM - and wanted to get a phone that integrates well to make the best of the system. Pop into/ring a shop - you never know what deal you can get. Off topic - waiting for a 'special' plate will post when recieved.
  11. D900 looks a great phone and slim too. Has the slider been ok? . Specs say battery should last up to 14 days on stand by and a talk time of 5 hours. Been giving it some heavy use trying everything out and leave Bluetooth on etc over past 24 hours and battery is about 1/3 left. But to be honest even if the battery life isn't that good - it doesn't matter as I can charge in the office and if necessary get a car charger for when I'm out and about. Thats a small price to pay for a phone that looks so good, at 9mm is so slim and at 71g so light and a huge bonus - it integrates so completely with the MM. I've had my Nk6230 for about 2 years. So on an upgrade I paid £69.99 for SE W880i with £50.00 credit on next bill for return of old phone, so actually paid £9.99! Even for a tight Yorkshireman I thought that that was OK.
  12. Just upgraded to an SE W880i, I believe that it's an updated much slimmer version of the W810i. Lexus.com doesn't list the W880i but has the following list of Bluetooth compatibilty for the W810i. The list below is a cut/paste from the table, hope the formatting doesn't jump about once I've posted this. Based on the below I decided to upgrade and it works a treat! Had a problem sending all the contacts to the MM, but a visit to local Lexus dealer and really helpful technician sorted it straight away. SE W810i BLUETOOTH FUNCTIONS Handset will pair to vehicle Handset will place a call through the handsfree system Transfer single number phonebook entries to the handsfree system Transfer multiple phonebook entries to the handsfree system at once Handset reconnects automatically when the vehicle is started Switch from handsfree mode to private mode using the phone's keypad or menu Switch from private mode to handsfree mode using the phone's keypad or menu Phone's auto answer function works properly when connected to the handsfree system Handsfree system displays incoming caller identification Handsfree system displays the cellular network signal strength Handsfree system displays the battery level of the phone Ringing heard through the vehicle's audio system when receiving incoming handsfree calls Calls placed from the phone's keypad are placed in handsfree mode Accept an incoming call using the vehicle's off-hook steering wheel switch Accept an incoming call through the Handsfree system using the phone's 'Send' button Reject an incoming call by pressing the vehicle's on-hook steering wheel switch Reject an incoming call by pressing the phone's 'End' button Dial a number 24 digits long using the handsfree system Dial an international number using the '+' prefix Dial in international number using the '011' prefix Terminate a handsfree call using the vehicle's on-hook steering wheel switch Terminate a handsfree call using the phone's 'End' button Cancel an outgoing handsfree call before the other party answers using the vehicles steering wheel on-hook switch Cancel an outgoing handsfree call before the other party answers using the phone's 'End' button Cancel an outgoing call from the handset before the other party answers using the vehicles steering wheel on-hook switch Cancel an outgoing call from the handset before the other party answers using the phone's 'End' button Transmit DTMF tones using the handsfree system's digit entry with the tones heard through the vehicles audio system Transmit DTMF tones using a stored number from the handsfree system's phonebook with the tones heard through the vehicles audio system Transmit DTMF tones using the phones keypad with the tones heard through the vehicles audio system Transfer single number phonebook entries that contain special characters to the system (p, w, etc.) Switch from handsfree mode to private mode using the handsfree system 'Transfer' button Audio system returns to its previous state automatically if the other party hangs up the call prior to pressing the 'On Hook' or 'End' button Switch from private mode to handsfree mode using the handsfree system 'Transfer' function Brilliant little phone - now it's set up it does the job no fiddles - recommend it.
  13. Ah, silly me - or Daft Yorkshire Lad as some have called me. Thanks Gareth all makes sense now.
  14. Thanks for reply. What's System 2 - do you mean Bluetooth V2.0? Suprised re your comments about Nokia - reading this thread from the beginning it seemed Nokia were 2nd to SE. Where do you manage to get your info from re:minor/criictal errors? I have the spreadshhet by TMTI ltd on behalf of Lexus, but it doesn't give all of the detail in terms of functionality with each phone. If SE W810, W850 and w800 all have good compatibility - where can I find out if SE W880i has good compatibilty?
