  1. Well I have sacked seeing this as the bloke didn't reply to a few of my emails asking for some extra information, and it's been taken off Pistonheads so I will assume it's sold or he has something to hide! *sigh*
  2. Off to see it next Sunday. I'll let you know how I get on. Will be the 8th GS Sport I have seen, hopefully this one will be the one after waiting 2 years!!
  3. I did email the guy and he seems quite a nice fella. The car has full service history and the mileages are all documented as shown below: - Lexus St albans Pre Delivery inspection L St Albans 997 L St Albans 9756 L St Albans 18519 L St Albans 25089 HR Owen Lexus 35222 Lexus St Albans 40588 Lexus Edgware 43019 L Edgware 47211 SPS Cars 56883 SPS Cars 64455 including cam belt (just before christmas) Obviously I will have to have a good look around it with a fine tooth comb, and have a good haggle with the price :winky: Your wheels look sweet in your picture, maybe if I got it that could be a future upgrade I could look into!
  4. I have been looking for a decent GS300 Sport for a few years now and have recently seen this one although it is a MK1. Has anyone else been to see it or knows of the car? I am trying to book a viewing to see it next Sunday but wanted to know if there is any history I should be aware of on here of it, or if anyone has any opinions on it? Also, are the things to look for similar to the MK2's or is there a different list? I will be having a look through this forum before looking at it but anything else major that can crop up other than balljoints, etc? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1173614.htm
  5. Thanks guys, all messages replied to via PM.
  6. The car is actually HPI clear but I have no idea how. Normally HPI's show if a plate has been changed too, this one didn't which was very sus. He said it had full Lexus Service History, actually it was a LEX garage. I think he was hoping for someone who had no idea to come along and buy it. I can't believe he asked if I wanted to drive the car. 12 points if I got pulled over - nice! Glad it's been taken off PH anyway. Keep your eyes open for it popping up again.
  7. Basically the pictures there were taken around 6 months ago when he bought the car. He must have then driven it into the ground and is trying to sell it without spending any money on it. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole and it's such a shame he has abused it because I bet once in it's life it was a cracking example :tsktsk:
  8. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/863794.htm I saw this Lexus for sale and thought it was worth ago emailing him for some more details. The car was meant to have had a cambelt changed, FLSH, mint condition with the tyres half worn etc. I got there today and the car was filthy which did not put things off to a good start. The owner still had his private number plate on as he 'couldn't be bothered' to change them over even though the V5 had the original plates on. The car is HPI clear but god knows how. The front wheel arch liners were both hanging out, and the front splitter was missing the sport badge and badly scraped even though the owner said he had it resprayed. The car had general marks all over and a big chunk out the wing. Being a pro detailer I took my paint depth gauge which revealed the car had a layer of around 150-200 microns all over apart from the drivers wing which had 350! All 4 tyres were illegal, around 1mm and below the tyre bar. The Oil filter was a pattern one and not Lexus and the belts looked badly worn. The oil was dirty and the car was fairly smokey when started. The owner asked if I wanted a test drive but I asked to see the history first. He had only a few receipts, which were very patchy, and the last one was in 2005. The car at the 63,000 mile service had requested NOT to have the cambelt changed. The last 2 services were done at LEX garages and not Lexus. I didn't even bother test driving the car as it was a shed, he completely lied to me on the phone and through email, as well as wasting 25 quids worth of fuel and 140 miles of driving as well as mine and my girlfriends time. Please avoid this car unless he drops the price to around 2 grand, as that's all it is worth!! Hope this helps anyone that was interested.
  9. I am still after a Lexus GS300 Sport Any colour considered FSH is a must Ideally after something with around 60k although I will consider higher if it has been well looked after. 1999-2001 Please let me know what you have. Thank you
  10. Hi all, I will be selling my current car to my friend in a few weeks and have always wanted a GS300. Due to the current market prices of these, I think now is a good time to purchase. I am after a Lexus GS300 Sport and ideally would like the navigator pack as well. I want a car that does not fall into the new tax bracket, so up to a late 2000 would be ideal. Not to fussed on the colour although black would be an advantage. Would be looking for a well-loved example, full service history and something with long MOT & Tax. I would also be after something with not horrendous miles. As for price, depending on the car we could work something out. Please PM or post in here with what you have. I will be searching on autotrader and pistonheads but obviously an owner’s club car would be an advantage. Look forward to hearing what you have. Joe P.s I am located in South London/Surrey.
  11. Hi all, I have recently been looking for a new car and took out a Lexus GS 300SE Navigator earlier. Was a lovely car to drive but the one I saw had a few things I wasn't happy about. It was a 1999 T-Reg in silver, but the history wasn't complete, they couldn't tell me if the cambelt had been changed and the steering didn't feel 'right' when braking or hitting a bump! As you can tell I walked away, but am possibly looking for one if something nice came up. I am based in the Whyteleafe area which is close to Croydon. If anyone has something decent like this for sale let me know. Other then that you have a nice site here, and plenty of information for me to check when viewing cars! Hope to speak to some of you soon. Joe :winky:
