I have ordered an now possess the sending unit (goes inside) and the base and antenna from Toyota to instal on my 1994 LS400 (factory phone is installed in front console). These did not come with installation instructions. There is no dealer in my area. The service department of the dealer from whom I purchased the parts is not clear on where to mount the antenna. The logical place would be top centre of the rear window. However top centre has an element of the rear defroster running through. I have been told by a local cellular dealer that the antenna should not be installed over a heating element. Does anyone have experience with this situation? If someone has the factory phone installed , where is the antenna located?
(I have posted this question on the USA forum, but am not expecting a reply as the forum does not seem very active at this time.)
