  1. A little advice if I may from the esteemed Lexus forumees please. Over Christmas I bought what I thought was a nice RX450h Takumi from a Lexus main dealer (I shan't say which one at this stage) I paid sticker price though it had not gone on general sale - coming in as part ex for a new one to another customer. This is relevant because no photos were taken of it by the dealer - other than a video prior to it being bought by me. Picked car up in afternoon and next morning my wife spotted a ding (see attached) in the centre of the rear bumper. We'd already also found one of the rear doors wouldn't open from the inside and one of the wing mirror glasses vibrates at speed. Took it back and Lexus's reaction was we don't know it didn't happen during your 18hrs of ownership but as a good will gesture we will pay half the nearly 800 quid bill to repair - even though they can't prove the damage was not there prior to me picking it up because none of normal photographs were taken. I'm not happy and think they should pay it all - though if made to i've said I'll pay 200 if forced to just to get it fixed and probably not darken their door again. What is the view?
  2. Hello esteemed and RX owners . I'm still searching for a replacement RX. I'm trying to assess values. Parker's list 2 versions of the F-Sport Takumi pack: an e-CVT or an e-four? What pray sagacious owners is the difference? How does one tell if it is not listed in the advert?
  3. Thank you. Wise advice. Drove a HUD briefly as a courtesy car so didnt really get the feel youve had.
  4. Thank you for taking the trouble - I see what you mean. Would this one have the 360 degree cameras - I can see no mention of it.
  5. Thank you for thorough reply.. I thought the 360 cameras were standard and didnt know you could get heated rear seats - always amazed me its not been offered before: front seat warm and toasty, rear cold bottom.
  6. Thank you for your prompt reply. Its an F Sport when I check - I have had hard (shall we say firm) riders like a Saab Aero in the past so may be OK. Autotrader are telling me its a 'great price' for both cars. Did not know luxury had a pack with upgrades like that. How do you like hard parts on your heated steering wheel?
  7. Might I trouble the esteemed RX owners. I have come into a little money - though would prefer its former owner to be still with us. I am minded to replace the trusty Rx400h with 194k on it with a later model RX450h. I'm caught between two options: an 18-Plate Sport with 18k on clock and a Mark Levison stereo upgrade on for £35K, or a 67 plate Premier with 42k on clock for a smidgen under £31k on toys the Premier only has the heated steering wheel over the Sport so far as I can make out - and I'm not sure I like the partially hard steering wheel. Both are with main dealers - though sport is from Beemer (someone swopped from Lexus to Beemer!) I'm seized with indecision - what do the esteemed group think? fair prices? which would you go for? Regards Brunel
  8. Thanks - bought one to give it a try. Still blowing a bit - but suspect I didnt put enough layers on.
  9. Thank you. Silly question - how does it reduce vibrations?
  10. I've had my splendid Rx400h for nearly 10 yrs now - thinking of having a change. Little question another Lexus RX - but seized by indecision over whether a pre or post (2014 I believe it was) RX450 model change. Any views from my learned friends over whether the updated version is worth the additional money? -about 5K or so from what I can make out. PS My RX400h has a blowing exhaust - worth fixing it before moving it on? must confess I prefer the idea of handing it over as a 'runner' Its a 2009 serviced by Lexus with 172K on the clock. Regards IKB
  11. Useful post thank you. My 172K 2009 centre section is blowing. I shall see if someone can do a repair cheaply as I'm think of selling it. One question - what is the 'thing' sticking out of the side? - the holes are in fact where that meets the exhaust. Regards IKB
