I've just started getting a squealing noise on idle on my 250. Its in an 55 plate and done 75k. I've searched a generic "car parts" specialist and the belt is easily found, but the "tensioner" they sell seems to be only £80. Whereas on eBay there is a kit comprising if more than just the tensioner pulley. Am I better off getting the kit from eBay? The belt looks in very food condition still so unsure which to change. And is it a job able to be done at home if put on drive on ramps/axle stands?

Took my front bumper off the other day in order to change my complete headlight unit, and when unplugging the front fog lights, I noticed there was what appeared to be an unused plug clipped to the top of the passenger side fog light. Anyone have any idea what this is for?

Hey guys and gals. Random question. I need to find a wire that is powered upon ignition, so as I can set up daylight running light project of mine. Anyone got any ideas? Thinking maybe one going to/from the under bonnet fuse box?

Hi guys and gals. I'm due to start a mini project involving drls on my 2005 is250, but need to know what wire I can splice into, that will only be powered when igntion is on. Any ideas would be helpful. Ps I don't have a voltmeter, hence asking the brains of Britain on here ;)

I use first choice Toyota in Bristol for my is250. Independant toyota/lexus specialist. Use genuine parts and damn site cheaper than Lexus costs

Hi guys and gals. I've seen a video of a Easter European IS250/220 with "switchback" running lights/indicators mounted where the current front indicator bulbs are. Had anybody done this or have any idea on how this could be done? Means one LED bulb can run both running light then switch to inductor when needed, then back to running light

Bumping this up as seems to be getting worse. Tried a different aux cable (belkin this time) tried all the "EQ" settings on my I home and although the cable helped the clarity, aux has to be turned up to 50!!!!!!! To get a same volume of sound that 18/20 on radio would produce. Anyone help me please as it's doing my chuffing head in having to turn it up and down all the time

This might sound either logical or illogical, but would replacing the standard restrictive exhaust (from secondary cats back) actually improve fuel economy? Reasoning behind this thought is once the stupidly restrictive crimped t-piece (where the pipework splits to the two rear boxes) is replaced with a free-r flowing, angled, full diameter v-split and to different boxes, the air flow would improve this reducing a back log of air flow and in theory reducing workload on engine especially lower rev/higher gear/uphill pull?

Got a random noise just started. As I lift the pedal up and down, I can hear a sort of squeak from the engine bay. Any ideas?

Hi guys (and gals). I have a 2005/55 IS250 SE and for some reason whenever I plug in my phone via aux, or play a cd, in order to achieve the same volume as the radio would be, I have to turn it up. Eg of the radio is on 18/20 I have to have the CD on around 26 and the Aux around 30+?! And also on aux get the whine slightly when plugged into the power socket. Any help is appreciated

My worry is are they going to be too far into the arch (as in the outside face of the wheel being further in or not)

Well rimstyle are doing 225/40/18 on the front and either the same on the rear or I can have 255/45/18 I think.

Thanks dude. Wheels I'm looking at are 7.5j front et 45 and 8.5j rear et 48. Reckon I'll need spacers to look better in arches or should be ok?

Hi guys and gals. I've seen various posts, moreso the generic IS section but specifically after details of the fitment of the 2005 IS250 se 17 inch alloys. I'm looking to upgrade to aftermarket 18's which I know of their fitment sizes and wanted to work out how much better they'll fill the arches width wise compared to standard. Main thing I need to know is the standard ET of the OEM 17's and their width (J)

Car looks awesome :). Found some inovit wheels. Similar dragon to your actually. 8j front, 9j rear. Think et38 front et40 rear. Something like that anyway. Think it'll need springs to set it off better tho

I'm looking at replacing my SE standard alloys and looking to upscale to a set of 18's. The style I'm looking at though don't come in staggered fitment (wider rears), but however come as 8.5J finer all round. Possibly included with a 3mm spacer for the rears, is this width suitable/advised?

I've seen and heard from American IS owners about removal of the resonator from the exhaust system, and some even removing the "mufflers" to produce a decent sound for not many pennies. Rather than buying greddy or hks which could be pricey, has anyone removed this resonator etc? Or offer best bang for buck as far as sound goes?

How about the Philips xtreme bulbs? Seem a review of those and apparently really good too?

Or bonus even lol

With my Xmas bony from work might buy them and LED and see which is best lol. Cheers for the advice

Yh I've heard of them althought someone said they can be a bit pricey. Saw some LED bulbs for summat like £9 a pair for dipped beam, but dubious as to how good the lighting will be

Even for dipped and main beam? I've seem some on fb that a company is doing but didn't know, if going along that route, if I might as well go for a HID kit?
