  1. Real Bad News - is the replacement Lexus or Pilkington?

I had a replacement on my IS300 and some adhesive was left on the drivers pillar.  The fitter ordered a new trim (with air bag) and came to me to fit once they had received it.  I would definately ask for a replacement (they won't be able to remove the adhesive without splitting the covering).

The replacement glass is Lexus glass, which I was quite surprised with as the last time I had new windscreen on IS200, it was Pilkinton. I suppose because its so new, Pilkington haven't made one for the IS250 yet.

The adhesive is not on the inside, its on the outside of the pillar on the paintwork. Is this easy to get off?

I have a mate who works for RAC who has ordered original Lexus glass for my car. You are completly within your rights to have Original glass fitted although they don't tell you this, you may have to wait for it as they won't carry it in stock. As he said if you buy a 22K car you want the best parts fitted to it.

  2. This is a hoax e-mail

Following quote from transport for london website

London Underground Press release: 27 July 2005

    Misleading e-mail

A misleading spam e-mail has been widely circulated which claims that by dialling 112 you can get through to 999 even without having an available signal on your mobile phone - this is completely untrue.

    A London Underground spokesperson said:

"This e-mail is incorrect. The 112 number does link people through to 999, but it only works if you have a signal on your mobile phone. If you have no signal bars on your phone, it will not work.

"It will not divert to a satellite signal.

"Even with a satellite mobile phone (which very few people have), you would need to have a clear line-of-sight to the satellite. You would have to be outside, not in a building or a tube tunnel.

"The 112 number is the European equivalent of 999.

  3. Hi all

yes the ST is a fairly quick car, thats when it isn't in the workshop having various things fixed (broken VVT cable, mod for viabrating acc pedal, flickering dash lights, broken cat mounts) know how to build quality cars do Ford :whistling:

Only really got the ST because my brother works for ford so i get employee discount. which has worked out well as i have only lost £2600 in depreciation on it in 2 and a half years including VAT (paid £10600 traded in for £8000) :D

Mostly drive around london for work so decided to go for somthing with a bit more class to match the bmw's/merc's & jags parked in my companys car park.

    can't wait till tomorrow morning
