  1. Hi,

Sorry can't answer your question, but am interested to know are you talking about via the Lexus Ipod integration kit? I was going to update my iphone tonight but I may wait now.

    cheers

    Jon

    Hi Jon,

This is when I connect using the usb port in the central storage box. Prior to the OS upgrade I could select my music / podcasts from the 7" touch screen by selecting audio / usb.

    regards,

    David

    Cheers David,

Ah ok I don't have the UBS port in my 2006 - I have the Full Ipod Integration kit (e.g. a IPOD connector lead in the glove box)

I don't know how the USB port works - but with my kit it acts as a CD Disk changer and displays each playlist as a CD e.g. 20 playlists I have 20 CD's in my changer

Does the USB connection work the same?

I think I'll wait for a mate to update their phone and test it out first.

  2. Copied this from another section.

    ........................................

    Hi Guys,

Haven`t been around since getting rid of my GS300 some years ago but am going back to Lexus again.

I read, albeit some older posts, where people were condemming the 220D as a terrible car basically.

I`m looking at a SE-L tomorrow. 2006. 60k miles and was wondering what peoples opinions were nowadays.

Also, is there anything, problemwise, I should be looking out for?

    Thanks in advance.

I was in the same boat as you - I had my Is200 for 5 years and loved it. I brought my 220d SE-L MM 2 months ago and love it to bits, I to had reservations after all the negative comments here, but on the up side my expectations were real.

So I took it out for a test drive and loved it! Takes a few days to get used to the gearing, but once you have it pulls like a dream (I don't really bother with 6th day to day and to be honest you don't need it)

I brought from an independent its 2006 and done 65k but I made sure it had a full Lexus History and before parting with my cash I called a dealer to ensure all the recall work had been done.

The fuel consumption is not fantastic (way better than my IS200 and the Tax bill is less) - however I knew this beforehand and if MPG was my aim I would have brought a boring Audi or BMW

As I said I love it to bits and don't regret my decision

    Cheers

    Jon.

  3. ....can you add a external cd changer to the factory head unit utilising the normal cd functions? this would be cheaper than a HU upgrade or repair. anyone know if this is possible?

    The short answer is no.

    Also from the other thread

Let us know how you get on with that, because mine was changed and then went again just over a year later.

£300 is a lot for it to go wrong again a year later.

My thoughts exactly. Thats a lot of dosh to shed out again if it goes pop later (which they are prone to do).

I was told at the time the replacement was a revised mechanisum, a year and a half on no problems (touch wood)

For me the OEM look was more important, and in my opinion replacement facias then available spoiled to look of the dash

  4. Any of the Wii owners got this game?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create another character, which surely must be possible.... I have even RTFM but no joy

Looking to multiplayer after the pub, it's possible with sharing the initial player, but me being the only lefty causes problems. arrggghhhh! :tsktsk:

Looks like Wii Sports Golf or wait for Tiger 2008

  5. http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/

This is the company Toyota & Lexus use for refurbing wheels, they do do an excellent job but even they will tell you that the diamond cut rims are inherant to corrosion,if getting some done its best to get them done in a plain colour as they do come back when diamond cut.

They even lathe out kerbing etc off your rims & make them look like new, finish is usually perfect.

I had mine done at Pristine in MK a few weeks ago, am very please with the results!

  6. thx :) think might get the hids and 04 satin rear lights..

anyone know if its easy to change the front headlamps to the 04 model?

Took me and a mate two hours, and was a pig getting behind the wheel arch liners but we did it leaving the wheels on.

Just make sure you have a decent socket set.

  7. Thanks for the comments guys... and cheers Chris for sorting and the quicky delivery of the new headlights

nice car m8. want to get the dark headlamps too. thanks for the pics..now i can picture it better as mine is same color:) are u going to have ur tail lights in the darker oem version too?

Dead pleased with the headlights, they change the look of the front end (meaner)... Well worth the money, (going to change the main beam bulbs back as they just look to blue and ruin the dark effect) Not sure about the darker rears, was thinking about the front fogs until I saw the price yesterday

Downside of getting the rims redone is parking so far out from the kerb now, good job we got fold in mirrors!

    Looking good mate

Like the number plate i'm guessing thats private. :winky:

Sure is, spells my name backwards - and was a nickname in my youth.... Other two are the model of an Audi I had when I brought it :winky:

    Cheers

    Jon

  8. Nice pics mate and subtle yet effective mods. I smiled reading it as we seem to have done the same modifications at similar times (the headlights and calipers).

Sport grille looks great as well mate.

    Jamie

Yours is looking good! I looked at two blue ones before getting mine...

I still got a K&N to fit, new mintex discs and pads, and waiting for new Spark plugs to arrive from the US eBay guy.

  9. These high quality HID effect Superwhite with 30% added Xenon gas bulbs are E Approved for legal road use in the UK.

Seem to be OK mate, if they're E-Approved :)

    Jamie

I guess time will tell if I get pulled... (I also still need to go out in the dark and see if they are any good)

Like yourself I have just fitted the OEM darker Hlights and am really chuffed, they look great!

    Cheers

    Jon
