Thank you for this.  The clips i need have a square top that is flat and slides inside the retainers on the trim.  Here's a better picture of the clip that I removed

I have a 2005 GS and the trim along the bottom of the drivers door has come off.  I think it must have been reattached previously as the clips had been glued to the trim  - and the glue seems to have given up.   A new trim is £250+!  So I have re-glued the black retainers to the trim.  However I need new little white trim clips in order to reattach it the door.

I have been suffering with excessive internal condensation on my 9 year old GS. As there was a musty smell I have just had the air-con treated with anti-bacterial and the pollen filter replaced. I keep the air-con set to automatic and do not leave the intake set to recycle.

Separately I have had an intermittant problem with lack of sound from the radio and sat nav. When this happens there are no audible beeps when pressing buttons and one cannot change any audio settings.

Yesterday I realised that the lack of sound occurs when there is a lot of condensation on the insdie of the windows when getting into the car.

Can someone tell me where the connection is that is shorting out with moisture so as to stop all the sound and audio?

I have new shape GS300 2005. Recently I have noticed that the nearside head-light does not always come on with the offside headlight. If I flick lights off and back on the near side comes on! I am referring to the Xenon normal beam not full beam.

Yesterday I was driving at night and realised neither of the headlights were on. Only after turning off and on several times did both come on.

Of course today I have just tested lights in the drive and both come on perfectly.

Are the bulbs failing? Could there be any other explanation?

I have taken off the engine covers and cannot see how to get to the Xenon bulbs. Are they something that only Lexus can replace????

Hi, New member here hoping to get some help in Tyre pressure sensors.

Got the warninglight on and had a valve/tyre pressure sensor replaced at Lexus, Two days later the light is on again and Lexus told me another sensor had gone. Reluctantly got another one changed, 30 mins after leaving Lexus the light comes on again! Back to Lexus and i'm told two more of the sensors have gone. Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it likely that four independant RF transmittors could all go at once? They've told me it's not the system that these transmittors beam to as that is fine????? Any help/thoughts much welcomed........

Have you reset the pressures? Certainly in winter as the temperature drops I get a light about tyres. I then check the pressure and hit the reset button.

Sorry to be dim, but how to you get the plastic engine cover off? Do you push down on the core of the clips or lever them up before pulling up on the clip?

Do not want to break one in forcing it the wrong way

Yeah the bulb was faulty I swapped the right bulb and it worked fine so im going to get a new one thanks for the help!!

I am having the same fault on my new shape gs300 with Xenon bulb. Nearside headlight does not always come on. When I flick from auto to headlight and back on it comes

Did getting a new bulb solve your problem

How much did the bulb cost? Did you get it from Lexus?

When googling lexus and snow I found a thread in the IS forum. Several things of interest. One is the recommendation to put four bags of sand in the boot. I did this and it was the best £5 I have spent for a while. Now I do not go sideways when braking and can easily get up the slopes that I could not before. Having a full load of fuel helps too. Very cheap. Very effective

Remember to flick out of drive when braking. Otherwise the anti-lock braking is not as good

Finally, I am going to invest in SnowSox when they are back in stock

More snow maybe next week, so not taken the sand out the boot just yet

I paid £129 as I got a 10% discount. I think there are 5 dvd's covering the whole of Europe.

The way to do it is go on eBay. I got a new Europe West DVD 08-09 from someone in Greece. They had to buy a whole set of 4 DVDs to get Europe East so then they sell the rest of the DVDs on eBay - you see it quite often. I got mine for £35 inc delivery

Then you sell your 07-08 DVD on eBay.

The net cost of my upgrade was about £10

I have new shape GS300. My current DVD says 86271- 64012 and below that 86271-60V542. According to the Lexus map update site I can get new DVD for €159. Cannot see any discs on eBay. Anyone know of any cheaper sources?

I need forumites help. I am a doctor who treats people with hand and arm injuries. I want to study how well people drive with a plaster cast on their arm, without putting them in a real car. I have found a new steering wheel and pedal for driving games that is meant to be quite realistic in its feel and feedback. Now I need to find a driving game for PC that has most realistic urban driving. I am not looking for racing or crashes. I am looking for something that has urban driving with stops and starts and hazards such as a pedestrian walking into the road. Since you are all computer savvy, I thought I would enlist your help.

Jumped into car to drive home. I have been parked where I often park. Quite hot weather, but no more than other times. When in "Drive", and either stationary or doing less than 20mph, the parking sensor warning is telling me I have something in range at the front of the car. I have wiped the sensors (with my fingers) and there is nothing stuck to them. I have turned the engine off and on. I have turned the sensor system off and on.

Any suggestions

Lexus offer a check,or used to, prior to warranty expire date where bits that may need looking are looked at. I'd ask about that.

On alloys they replaced all mine when 2 started to go

On extending said warranty see if they will throw in free servicing with it..........

Also how long are you going to keep the car and what miles do you do ? If you are a 15k miles a year driver then the risk of component failure is higher than if you are a sub 10k driver.........

Just back from Lexus Woodford. Yes they will replace the four wheels on the road. SHould I ask for the spare to be replaced if it has never been used? Will the new wheels corrode in another 2 1/2 years?

I do about 9k a year so probebly not go for warrenty extension. Wish I'd know I could wheels replaced when my now 7 year old IS200 was still in warrenty. No-one at Lexus mentioned it then! The wheels are now horrible

I have the new shape GS300. The warrenty expires in a few months.

I just noticed that I have some corrosion on two alloys. I need to get them replaced under warrenty. Will Lexus replace all 5 wheels if only two are corroded?

Are there any other items I should be looking at before the warrenty expires?

No doubt I will be offered the option to extend the warrenty at a huge cost. Is this worth doing???

I have a new shape GS300. I have a Sony Ericsson W300i phone. I have paired the phone and can receive calls easily. Making calls from the car phonebook is easy too. The numbers in the car phone book were put there when I had a Motorola RAzr.

I want to add some more numbers. There is no way to add manually and the car will not accept a phone number beamed from the phone

Any suggestions?

Sorry taken so long to get back, but been out of country for 3 weeks.

No i haven't found the problem, and i'm going to go and see dealer next week about it and see if they can find the problem, but from sitting in rear listening whilst someone else drives it sounds like it is coming from parcel shelf area. My first thought was the rear brake light or the other bits around it and tried holding it but made no difference, same with the sun blind. I'll let you know if i find anything.

In the meantime if anyone else out there has had similar either fixed or not fixed, please post to let me know.

I spoke to James at Woodford. He said he has had this on other cars but not the GS. ANyhow, have had my 2 year service and they have tightened something to do with the rear screen where it meets the body. So far (5 days) and after lots of sun the horrible noise seems to have gone.

Back to being quiet apart from some very quiet creaks at the front on occasion.

2006 Gs300 has developed a very loud creaking and groaning sound coming from the rear parcel shelf area. Only seems to happen in hot weather when the sun has been on that area. Anyone else had the problem and found what it is that is causing this very irratting noise, although living in Uk I probably won't suffer it for very long. I've checked in the boot and for any obvious loose panels etc. There isn't any luggage or other rubbish lying around causing it.

You have saved me describing my new rattle. I got in my car that has been sitting in the sun at Stanstead airport and there is a horrible creaking/rattle coming from the rear area. Is it the shelf or the roof lining?

My GS300 is 2 years old, and I have owned it for a year. I have already had the dash rattles fixed!

Have you found a cure since submitting this post.

The flap is coming down fully, and the power has never been disconnected and the switch seems fine...

Looks like I'm stuck with what I've got!

I had a problem on my IS when I could not eject CDs. I took out the fuse for the radio/CD and then replaced it. I was then able to eject. I guess all I am suggesting is, find the fuse for the CD stacker and remove the fuse to see what happens

Once you've cured this, buy a decent MP3 player and a casette adapter. I have, and have all my CDs with me now

I have used PIAA blades on my IS200. They are great. Should I use them on my new shape GS300? I am aware of a special coating to dispel water on the side windows, but is there any reason not to use the Silicone blades on the windscreen?

Does anyone have any experience of PIAA blades on the new GS to share???

I traded in my IS 250 Sport for an 05 GS 300 SEL on Wednesday 31st January, fantastic car ; however the dash on the passenger side, somewhere near the passenger vent creaks very loudly.

It has become more noticable first thing in the morning, especially over the last couple of very cold days.

The creaking noise stops after approx 15 mins, this is very annoying as i traded the IS on the basis of the creaks and notchy gearbox.

Has anybody had such a creak and more importantly has it been successfully resolved.

Any thoughts or coments would be most welcomed.

I had a rattle on my "pre-owned" GS300. Lexus Woodford took the dash out under warrenty. Generally the rattle has gone except very occasionally returns. It is a temperature thing.

Your dealer should know what to do

This works on mine - goto AUDIO and switch to FM channel. Then switch on EON.

What is EON?

I have gone to Audio and selected TP then gone to Menu and the RDS-TMC. The source is lsisted as "automatic" but has "no reception" If I press manal, it looks for a staion but does not find one

I have a new shape GS. One year old from Lexus. I've had it three months. Just had it back to Lexus to get dash rattles cured (hopefully). Now the SatNav no longer picks up RDS-TMC info. I have been told to set the radio to TA (althought I am not sure I had this set before it went in and the Traffic info was working). After a 30 minute jounrey including listening to the spoken trafffic news on Heart, still no RDS-TMC info according to the display.

Curiously while the car was in I was given a new RX to drive. Lovely new map display and instanteous traffic info display on map

Any suggestions how to get the RDS-TMC to work or is it back to LExus again??
