  1. Allo all, i have a nearside front side light out/blown.

Lifted the bonnett and it looks a mare to change.!............or am i wrong?

    Cheers

There quite easy to do. It is quite tight to get your hand to where the side light bulb holder is. You just twist it a quarter turn. It will only twist one way. Replace bulb and twist the opposite way to secure bulb holder back in.

    10 min job if that.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks for that mate......

Thought it was gonna be a nightmare due to the lack of space in that area

    Cheers

  2. theres a little flap just infront of the screen(when closed). Flip it open and there will be 2 screws. Just undo them and the whole top unit with pull towards you. Just have a look round it and unscrew whatever looks to be holding the screen in place. Thats what i got up to while waiting for the recovery truck haha

    Cheers mate! Simple as then!

    I thought i'd never get a reply!

  3. dont boher mate, i have been saying it on here for many many years and each year the same old posts come up that people have crashed the car on ice/snow etc - tough! serves you right i say!

as u say many still think winter tyres are only for snow.. no sympathy from me if the car slides down the road and gets wrecked.

    Hi Rob,

can you recommend a good set of winter tyres please?

    Cheers :)

  4. Looks like my IS200 will be staying on the drive for a little while yet.

    Same as mine mate!

Boss is never to happy when i say i cant get in. He just tells me "well , everyone else has got in".......*****! He just doesn't understand the is200 snow problem! :tsktsk:

What are the main problems you are having with the snow and IS there? With decent winter tyres it handles the snow just fine.

And if you haven't got winter tyres????!!!!

  5. Thats what i was thinking ...honest!

Its just that the left one heats the drivers side and the right does f... all! :duh:

No worries, sounds like someone swapped the switches round - easy to fix, just pop out the panel and swap the plugs over. As for the seat that isn't working, check the fuses, I think they're in the passenger footwell but check the manual to be sure.

Thanks for that mate. One other thing though....both lights on the switches light up. Would this mean the fuse is ok?

  6. On a similiar note. Are the two switches for the heated seats, for the back of seat and the arse? or is it one switch for drivers seat and one for passenger seat? Not sure ive explained that clearly!?

Lol, left switch is for passenger seat, right switch for drivers seat :)

  7. May just be because of something that's been disturbed when they've been checking everything, e.g bushes on the suspension or ARBs.

    Thanks for your advise lads.

Went for a spin this morning down the same road with speed bumps and all ok now??

Maybe right there Steviewevie. Something may of been disturbed but now reseated?

    Thanks again

  8. Yep sorry for that! Coolant is what i meant!

Is there a level visable to top up to?

Yep, lean over the radiator and you'll be able to see a window on the expansion tank, with a "full" marker.

Der!!! thanks for all your help lads. I'll get my coat and hold my head in shame! :crybaby:

  9. DO NOT fill with water - use the proper long life coolant.

i am a bit confused when u say water level AND anti freeze level, i am assuming u mean the coolant level as there is no seperate water and anti freeze tanks on any car i know of.

Yep sorry for that! Coolant is what i meant!

  10. Thanks for the great idea, inspiration, instructions and advice Patrik I have a Sony nav in my IS200 now and i gotta say it works really well. I did not cut the frame nor wire it to the acc..

I have kept the car charger discretely tucked it away and plugged into the cigarette lighter socket, when I don't want the nav on I simply unplug it and hide it away and the nav turns off.

It turns off after 30 seconds when unplugged or ignition goes off. also It changes to night mode automatically and the signal is good.

    I used a Sony NV U-92 TC

*I also found many loose screws within the housing and screen.

    Excellent work mate!

But how have you discretely tucked a cigarette lighter away? It's rather big!

    Any pictures?

Very tempted to give it a go!

  11. Hey you could always install a portable satnav into the unit, myself and a few others have done that successfully, if it turns out to be the screen i have a spare one with the IR receiver.

    Mmmmm.....sounds like a good idea!

Have you any pictures of the said portable nav screen?

How does it power up and is it still removable or fixed?

Sorry about all the questions just its annoying having a duff screen let alone one that gives you road maps of 9 years ago!! :crybaby:
