  1. I haven't got them on the car yet as they are getting refurbished and my car is still waiting for a chip for the new ECU before we can map it so I don't know if they rub or not but I suspect they will :crybaby:

I got two new Nankang tyres for £89+vat each but I am told that they are noisy and not the best in the wet. Noise doesn't bother me but the grip would be nice to have :P  They are 235/35/19.

As far as width and offset goes I can't remember but I will check when I get them back. All I know is that they came off an IS which is good enough for me :D

im afriad they are going to rub in front, unless you ar going to do somthing with your bodywork...i have 225.35.19 on mine, and it rubs the inner arch at full lock.

and at one point on the splash gard in the front fender...

butt it might work,if you have the right offset?

my IS are lowerd 35mm on H&Rsprings...

  2. Hi there mate in some cases when the oil light dose'nt go out its usually a faulty level sensor in which case its replaced.Lexus design may differ and this is not a very common fault for VW.

well,i`ve got my car back yesterday, and it was gone,,my mecanic told me taht he dident do anything, but he had spoken to a toyota garage, and they said that there could be many things that caust it,,f.ex. an aftermarked stereo, the ecu for the instruments and more, that i dont remeber:)

butt anyway, its gone for now...just hope that it dont come back!

  3. Hi there mate working for VW i have seen this but with the bonnet not the door. The oil level sensor gets a signal from the bonnet switch to say the level has been topped up and then resets itself sending the light off.

thanks for replying,,do you know what vw did to solve this problem? riped out the bonnet sensor??

or did they change the oilsensor?

or did they sort it out anotherway??

  4. it started on Saturday,i was going ouit for a drive, and when i started i saw that oil warnig didnt go out,,so i stopt it right away, and it was abit low, butt far from empty, but i filed it up to max..and when i got back in the car again, the light was gone,so i drowe away,i had a stop at the shop, and when i started again,,the light was on again,,so i thougth that it was the filter or the presure sensor...

so to day i left it to my local garage to have it sorted out...they changed the oil filter and checked the sensor, but the light was still on!!!

but when the engine was runing the mecanic opend the door,,and the ligth goes out!!!

he tolde me that he never have seen this problem, and he was going to call a toyota garage tomorow, and ask them if they know anything????

i was wondering if any of you have heard of this problem????

  5. what year is the your IS,, i may have a difffernt wiring diagram for you..

well, now i`ve got sound:) butt it sounded like crap! :(

i only connected th speakers in the front,so i dont have any bass

so what im gonna do is fitt a compnent sett of rockford fosgate fnq`s in the front, and one 12" woofer in the boot, hopfully it wil do,orelse i will mount 2 12"woofers,but i realy don`t want to,because it takes tomutch space...

butt one question: can i buy an adaptor for the antenna, that will fitt my stereo? or do i have to chop it of??and mount a new on??

to Geoffers: i went for a easy solution,,i disconnected the oem amp and extended the wires to the amp,and mounted them to the oem harnes...:)

  6. ah - becomes clearer now - ok for the S model( to make 100% sure of your model look at the rear speakers from inside the boot, the  should only have 1 set of connections and not 2 sets as in the  SE and SPORT models)

you can get an ISO adaptor from autoleads, wire back up your plug and get the adaptor

do u have only 1 plug going to the radio?

i cant check it now,but ther was 2 connecters at the back of the oem player,

well, ive got an amp behind my glovebox

    what can i do??

i was thinking on fiting rca-plugs on the signalwires and plug them in my player, will this work??

  8. how can i get my new player to work whitout new wirering an whithout ading a amp in the boot if i have a oem amp???

    i realy need help...

i have choped of the plug to the oem player/radio,beacause i thougt the

WiringChart that was posted by fargo would help me out, butt it dosent fitt with the collourcodes on the harnes???

can anybody that have done this before help me??

  9. best let the experts reply before you go chopping anything

believe me , they will reply

in the meantime try the "search", as its been covered many a time  :D

i realy need some help here:)

i cant get any sound, i need a wiring chart for my IS stereo, its an 6speaker system 2001mod.

what model is it? ie ans S, SE or SPORT? there are still only 6 speaker locations on all the models but on SE and SPORT models the rear speakers are actually 2 seperate ones. this makes all the difference as the S has no amp but the SE and SPORT has an external amp

its not a sport, and im not shure if its a se or a s,,its a sticker on the rear speakers with lexus writhen on them...i think ive heard somting about that...

how can i tell what model i have??

  10. Try www.autosound.co.uk

They do the radio repairs for lexus and toyota.

i live in norway, and i think i know one place here that can do it cheap..

butt anyway,i tryed to mount some cd`s in and eject them 5-6 times, and the cd in slot 3 came out,and when i mounted a burned cd in slot 2,it started to play:)

i have now orderd a faciaplate,so when i get that ill try open up the changer and see if i can sort it out...

    anyway, thanks......

  11. I had a similar problem. It was a bought CD. I put it into the player disc 2 and it just made a funny wirring noise. It then wouldn't recognise that there was a cd in disc 2 . All the other 5 were fine. It let me load a cd into disc 2 (although i knew that there was already one in there). This just made the same noise then switched over to another disc. The second disc was able to eject and load ok still but wouldnt play.

After doing this about 4 or 5 times it ejected both discs from disc 2 at the same time. It now works fine again and have not had any more problems.

Hope this makes some sort of sense :duh:

    adie

it exactly the same that hapend to me,butt its on all of the cd`s,now ther is no cd in slot 2 and 4:/

i will try to mount a cd in and eject it some times, and see if it works...

    thanks for all the help!!!

  12. Home-burned CD's are not recommended due to their thickness which can give errors on the OEM CD player.

    ok,i tryed once,butt i didnt work.

well i just spoke to toyota and the woudent change the stereo on the waranty:(

it was only 3 years, butt the did have an exchange-deal if i payed about 640£ ill gett a new one,and they send me the cd`s ther were in the old one...

  13. CD players have an extended warranty period of 5 years :)

Also, try giving the side of the centre console a whack to shake it into work...

    D.

well,i was driving around and i wanted to change cd,and it jamed again now i cant play cd`s atall! now i have removed the fuse, and it dosnt work...tryed to "hitt it" in the side...

i called lexus and they just told me that i had to go to my local toyotaGarage, and so i did. when i told them what the problem was,the dident mention any waranty, and said that the would just change the unit, and they would send the unit to a specialist that fix it,and the dident know how mutch it would cost:/

i dont know what to do:(

and another thing i was wondering about, can you play burnd cd`s in the oem player?

  14. thats what i told him,he coud only gett a 1,5 DIN, butt i radher have 2 DIN.

and by the way,i dont have a oem amp i my car,,do anybody know if i could mount a rockford fosgate amp where the oem amp are mounted?

Genesis amps are nice small packages - you could look to one of those to fit.

May be a bit more expensive though.

i have a rockford fosgate 501.x amp it gives 4x75w RMS.

it`s not that big, butt it works for me..

i want to hide away as much as i can do in my setup,so i thougt maby i could putt it where the oem amp goes..well i gues i just have to wait and see...

i dont think they sell Genesis amps here in Norway, butt i dont have the money to buy anything new at the moment...

  15. i was only wondering,i asked my local dealer for a frame to mount an aftermarked player in,and he told me that he could get one 1,5 DIN.

butt i have seen here on this page that many hva 2 DIN frames...

my dealer said that the frame was for a is300,butt isnt that the same??

Yes it is the same - tell him IS is the model and 200/300 denotes engine size.

thats what i told him,he coud only gett a 1,5 DIN, butt i radher have 2 DIN.

and by the way,i dont have a oem amp i my car,,do anybody know if i could mount a rockford fosgate amp where the oem amp are mounted?

  18. IMPRESSIVE AIDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where did you learn Norwegian? It's not everyday British people speak Norwegian, so i must say i'm very impressed!

And to Kaka, i'm driving down to our LOC friends i September to buy some goodies... I have allready spoken to the clueless guys at Lexus Olso, but they will re-register your car with your new BHP, witch means a ****load of money to the goverment... DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS :)

Much easier to drive to England if you ask me!

Not much competition between the Lexus dealers... since there only one... in Oslo. So the can pretty much decide the prices all on there own... Sad but true.

Congratulations on you new car! Have the automatic myself now, and you are going to be extremly happy with your car... My previous car was a Seat Leon Cupra R, but i had to go back to Lexus... There is just something special about them... (had a IS before the Cupra too)

FINNALY i'm not so alone...

well, when i have fited the s/c ,nobody would know about it:) "supercharger???! what is that?":)

  19. I have been using the standard brakes with my SC for the last 35,000km so I would say yes they are fine!

I am about to upgrade the front brake disks but that is only because I need to replace them and the upgrades are the same cost as new standard disks from Lexus!

    thats good to hear.

is the supercharger someting that will last,i mean do you think it`s gonna be hard for me to gett next year?,or will TTE make these for a wile?
