  1. Ive a problem with a Toyota autobox whereby its changing up thru the gear too soon. The only way i can explain it is that its shifting up at around 4.5K rpm instead of revving upto 6K rpm at WOT. Also, it wont kick down from 4th to 3rd gear if i plant my foot down. This basically make the car slower during acceleration as it doesnt stay in gear long enough to benifit from higher rpm or the VVTi for that matter!

Ive check the fluids, will be changing it soon cos ive simply run out of ideas. Ive been told to change the MAF as the shift points can be load related, still no good. Ive checked the TPS, its within tolerances. What else can cause the shift points to change?

  2. sorry to dig up an old thread, but i thought it was relavant for people like me who are having problems with this Type T-IV fluid.

I contact my toyota dealer for some T-IV and they gave me 08886-81015 which is stated as DEXTRON III which i queried there and then, but without proof, i just paid and left.

Now according to this http://www.lexusclub.co.uk/gearboxoil.pdf It STATES that vehicles specified with Type T-IV CAN NOT use DEXTRON III ...........

Ive take the part number from the bulletin, given it to them and they tell me is superceeded by 08886-82025 (which has been mentioned here by Colinbarber) and as stated is known to Toyota as PAS fluid.

Also 08886-81015 (which cleverdick mentioned) from post #2 is also superceeded by 08886-82025 again PAS Fluid.

Can anyone confirm that i have the right to go back to toyota, show them this info and say they have infact given me the wrong fluid? Also, anyone running with the PAS Fluid and is it correct?

  3. I got a responce from Blitz after contacting Ogura.

    "Dear Kevin,

My Name is Tomas from Blitz Japan. We had a request from Ogura if we could

    help you out.

First, you are right that Ogura supply's the supercharger and we design the

specific kits using Ogura's super charger.

As I mentioned, we design the kit specifically for a typical vehicle model,

test it thoroughly and start mass production. As a result, we do not have

different pulley sizes in our product line to fulfill your request. We wish

we could help you out but I'm afraid that it is over our power.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely yours,

    Tomas Kasari

    Blitz Co., Ltd"

So naturally, ive emailed back to do some more digging, basically about the other pulleys on the other kits, aswell as converting to a solid pulley.

  4. ok, comnpare my drive pulley to yours and see how much difference there is initially.

    16724.jpg

(from left to right, crank belt on left, SC belt on right)

Blue Arrows - This is the measurement from the end of the pulley into the face inside the pulley where the nut bolts onto the surface. I took the measurement at one side as the nut would be in the way in the centre.

Green Arrows - This is the outter lip where its slightly taller than the ribs where the belts sit on.

Red Arrows - I managed to get the calipers around the whole pulley but this includes the width of the belts aswell, i cant remove the belt at this point to get an actual reading.

Pink Arrows - This again is the outter lip measurement of the inner pulley, cant get near the ribs.

Yellow Arrows - The width of each pulley, totaling approx 50mm.

  5. :crybaby: always me.........

From what ive seen close up, the pulley part where the belt sits on is just a ring, as the outter larger part of the pulley is whats connected to the SC shaft. Its possible to make that ring in a reduced size, what size depends on how thick is it to begin with. But there also the possiblility of the inside of the ring having some sort of tooth/rack pinion type of getup, or how else does the shaft lock into the outer ring...........

    all complicated stuff.

wonder if Blitz UK have any schematics?

  6. Good work on calling them though :)

aye, ive got International Lo Call :D

yeah, i dont fancy stripping mine down to get the pulley dimensions myself, still working on it. Havent fully worked up the courage to dismantle the clutch pulley to see how it works, for fear of not being able to put it back on! But thought about seeing if something could be done with that.

  7. Mr Singh - Bad News........

i got fed up and eventually decided to ring Blitz NA, ive just got off the phone with them and this is the crack.....

they dont have any kits instock to measure, but even if they did, they wouldnt be able to get just a pulley. You would have to buy a full kit!! So even when it comes to warranty, they would just change the whole compressor. He doesnt think Blitz Japan even build the pulley, they buy them in fitted, and there no way to find out who makes the pulley unless we can contact Japan (which i doubt) The guy couldnt even think of another system which uses a clutch type pulley.......

    so our final options are.........

to collectively pester Blitz UK and get them onto Japan for more info and where this pulley originates from and take it up with them

    or

have the twin drive pulley CNC'd

im up for whatever, let me know.

  8. in theory thou, the drive belt, ie, crank to alt, and alt to sc pulley, wouldnt change speed, its just purely that the sc pulley has a smaller circumfrance so it spins faster using the same amount of revolutions from the drive belt, what could cause the increase in wear on the alt? obviously this has to be considered cos you dont wanna be changing alts every so often.
