To add to the comment by Mr Morse
Judging by the fact that all the distributors tend to share storage depots ( eg statements on Hemel Hempstead) across the country and pipelines, there is little or no difference in what they all have for a particular grade.
There are some additives, most of which are developed and supplied by 3rd party companies such as Lubrizol.
Based on this there is no benefit, other than a higher RON rating.
Im trying out Optimax which is higher rated, to see if the quoted additional miles are true or not. If not Ill go back to standard 95.
As for cheap petrol, Sainsburys is often beaten by BP who also do the nectar points. Another reason they are losing to Tesco.

Don't be lazy scrape the outside clear then it will de-mist in no time.
I always pour over hot TAP water ONLY if iced up. after starting and getting de-mister etc all going. This also has the advantage of warming up the glass and reducing demist efforts.
Off and going in no time, I dont like de-icer sprays and they take too long anyway.

Also can anyone confirm if Lexus Reading provide a discount to LOC (gold) members.
The answer to that question can be found in the Gold Members Section.
Isnt that a catch 22 ? Be useful to know before I sign up , perhaps I can check that one with the garage themselves.
Can anyone answer on the oil, is the saving worth the hassle ?

My IS 200 is up for its 60k service, and Ive been quoted £500-600 so far.
It seems excessive and appears to be more based on very expensive labour rates.
The 50k was fine at just over £200 including MOT.
Having found this site,
I have noticed that several people have supplied their own oil for the service, so interested to know how much this changed.
Also can anyone confirm if Lexus Reading provide a discount to LOC (gold) members.
thx

Maybe they've forgotten ;)
As for MPG, my IS 200 is usually getting close to 400 to the tankful.
If Im doing a lot of motorway driving its better at 420+, but then that's not too different to other cars I have had.
