  1. I love that tanabe exhaust tango i am in the middle of ordering one myself but its not easy in australia

just how many of you guys have the tanabe exhaust.

One more thing also ****ty that lexus does not give us the IS350 and to europe.

I would have bought one straight off instead of the IS250 if both available at the same time. cheers from AUSTRALIA

  2. Nope. My 2005 delivered IS250 SE-L is still rattle free..and no I'm not deaf. Also still prefer driving along at 'sorry officer' motorway speeds without the ML system intruding on the silence

Mine is 1year old now, no rattles and it's a sport just a little noise from drivers grab handle just move it a bit and noise is gone.

Still love this car IS350 would be pefect car in power.

Our roads in brisbane australia are terrible rough, pot holes until you drive on the highways.

  3. Droped into lexus today and see the 2007 IS250 on the showroom floor, what australias 2007 changes are.

    NO SHARK FIN

BOOT AND FUEL SWITCHES ARE HORIZONTAL AND ILLUMINATED

VSC CUT OFF SWITCH SAME AS US. :D :D :D

    FEW DIFFERENT COLOURS

I guess yours will be the same specs as australia

  4. The 2007 model year version of the IS goes into production in August, according to US Lexus websites. I wonder what will change on the car or whether new colours will be offered for UK bound versions. If anyone knows, do share the info...

    Thanks.

On US sites the biggest news is IS250 VSC DEFEAT switch and IS350 VDIM DEFEAT switch on the dash for 2007 models.

They must push theirs cars very hard on corners because mines 6 months old and never had VSC come on and i love pushing around corners in my IS250 sport my old IS300 use to come on all the time compared to the new IS250 might keep the jorno's happy, :D :D :D :D

  5. Funny about wifes and cars this is our 3rd lexus, had IS200, IS300 and IS250 (REALLY WANT IS350)

she says why you are updating all the time theres nothing wrong with the car but when i get the new car home, which she hasn't driven, and drives around the block its all to had she says i like the IS300 now after a few months you can't get her out of the car so i can drive it.

She complains at first because i spend too much money on cars and i say ill buy you a little mini or old car

oh no no no love my lexus point taken stop complaining.

  6. Normaly i have 9L - 100Km (I think is 31mpg) - mixed roads.

    Last 58L of petrol = 727Kms

7,98L - 100Km (mpg ???) - Driving to try make a better result - mixed roads, 50% motorway, other roads at 80kmh or less.

    In town normaly get 31mpg/29mpg

    Petrol: BP ULTIMATE

Your spot on akkilles with mine which is auto and 9l to 9.5l mixed roads mainly city but highway driving is 6.4l - 100km to 7l - 100km (44mpg to 40mpg) is exellent compared to my IS300:D :D :D

    SHELL OPTIMAX

7.98L is 35.3mpg just thought you won't to know.

  7. romaro, I have done about 4800Ks (about 3000Miles) and I am averaging about 27-28MPG. It's about the same around town, 27MPG. Have only done a couple of long trips and Tank meter tells me I am getting around 35-36MPG.

    Good luck.

I'm getting very good results 29mpg city urban and trips down and up the coasts getting 42mpg according to my trip computer

  8. Have covered 4500klm in my sport with 18''wheels now and 3 months on no rattles at all and no unschedule visit to lexus but i do get a creak from the dash on cold mornings but its goes as the day heats up i was told the the dash gaps are very tight and expands and contracts in weather but very happy.

My IS300 had rattles and they replaced the sunroof and steering wheel the amount of electronics in the dash of 250 is overwhelming. arwsome ML sound system :D :D :D

  9. Interesting about the twitchiness, my GS300 Sport has 245s all round, and it's rock solid round bends. In fact, it shocks me that I haven't been able to get the tyres screeching, even when pushing it hard...I go round bends expecting to be thrown into a ditch like you state, but the car just clings on like a leech

I have 250 sport 18''wheels personally i don't think its twitchy our roads in the suburbs of brisbane city australia have very rough and patchy but the car is a little bumpy but when the roads are smooth its justs hangs on like its on rails no fear of running off the road.

Tire noise is not bad about the same as my is300 was but the 250 handles way better than the 300.

Funny thing i can thow the 250 into a corner a lot more than the 300 and not have the VSC come on where the 300 did, same corner.

  10. Are you saying that the IS 250 and the IS 200 are comparable!!!...and that your IS300 is more comfortable and smoother and more powerful!!

I find this very hard to beleive .The IS 300 is afterall the same car as the IS200 with a bigger engine.

Mwaybe when you get an IS250 for yourself you will change your mind :crybaby:

I had a IS300 for 2years before i bought the IS250 sports one magazine quoted the IS250 is quicker than the IS300 because the 250 is so quite and smooth you don't realise the speed your doing its a true lexus and way above my old IS300 in every way and getting 6.8 l/100kl highway and 10.1 city. :D :D

  11. Simply put Tyrrp and totally correct.

The Australian options have the Prestege (Base model) and the Sports Luxury with 17inch wheels and 55 profile tyres.

The Sports only comes with 18 inch and 45 profile tyres. Hence, no difference in actual distance covered for one rotation of the wheels.

There has been discussions at the dealers to offer the 18inch wheels as an after delivery optional extra, but then they/you would be stuck with the 17inch wheels. The factory are telling the Australian dealers that they can't offer them as a pre-build option and hence lesser price.

Maybe you guys over in the UK can get a better deal as the dealers would be buying more than the Australian dealers.

Ha55anx. In Australia, they do offer the Sports with either Manual or Auto gearbox. So try again for the auto if you want it. Again, the Prestege comes in both Manual and Auto, the Sports in both and the Sports Luxury only with Auto. The SL has the adaptive cruise and hence will only be on the Auto.

    IS250 Sports lover. :D

rap03 you just made a little error on the profile of the 18''wheels their 40 profile tyres one guy paid almost $5000 for 18'' wheels for his luxury instead of 17''.

  12. In australia new luxury sports cars are very expensive one motor magazine said the IS350 will be here and of 2006 aus. is getting the GS460,RX350 and the LS460 this year

Wheels january magazine has a road test on IS250 they like and feb.mag, has the IS250 against the BMW325 TESTS. worth reading.

Most of the mag, testers always winge about cars that have less than 250bhp they want more power i remember one mag, testers own car was a hyundai exell.

Police have speed cameras on all major highways and main roads, tunnels and bridges

Some of our local cars have 400bhp plus in a falcon ute deadly game.
