  1. Thanks Stevie, I'm sure it'll all help, especially the part about looking at the VIN plate.

i think only the sport came with a LSD

I thought so too, but I do remember that I called Lexus' customer services when I has looking for mine and asking if it was just the Sport that came with an LSD, and they told me that there was a limited edition SE-l that also had it. I'm guessing the 'l' stood for LSD.

  2. Hey guys,

I've given one of my mates the Lexus bug and he's got himself an IS200 on the way.

He's asked me to grab some technical info for him on the car as he's not on the boards yet, most of which I've found on the boards and the knowledgebase, but he'd like the settings for the LSD on the sport and the open diff found on the rest of the range along with the crown wheel and pinion sizes.

Any recommended after-market LSDs that suit the car would be appreciated as well as he hasn't bought a sport and doesn't know if its an SE-l either to know if it has the factory LSD fitted.

I'm not as technical as him (I'm but a humble sparky not a mechanic!) so I hope that makes sense to someone.

  3. I actually prefer the new Supra (FT-HS) to the LF-A, nice as it is. A hybrid version of it would be very cool though, I'm all for environmentally sound power!

Part of the excitement I have over the IS-F is knowing what my Dad's M5 is like! Considering the F will have similar power in a smaller package is helluva exciting to me, as long as they get the chassis right. I've driven a 250 sport and it was great to drive, I just hope sticking the V8 in the front won't unbalance it.

  4. Recently got some new tyres and the mechanic recommended to me that I get a different set of locking nuts than the OEM ones. Apparently he's had one nut fail on him and he wrecked a wheel getting it off his own IS, and has heard of it happening to others.

Should I be out looking for a new set or is this not a common problem?

  5. Registered here a good while ago but never got down to posting!

I've got a Sapphire W-reg IS200 sport (see sig), had her since December '05 and loving every minute of it!

Also drove a new IS250 sport the other week as a test drive for work and was pretty impressed, not as much fun as the '200 I thought but still a very impressive car to drive!

I am currently entertaining the thought of getting a V12 XJS as a cruiser, obviously keeping the IS if I ever need to take other people anywhere or for when the Jag is broken lol.
