  1. Hi all fellow loc's

I have just had my is200 fail a MOT due to poor brakes ie spongy... they re-bled them 3 times then suggested that the ABS pump is faulty, i had this changed (expensive:() then they re-bled them again 3x yet they are still spongy. the garage now says that they think the brake master cylinder could be the cause. i re-bled the brakes myself this afternoon starting with the furthest wheel etc then the ABS pump last (not much at all comes out of the ABS pump bled nipple ?) yet the brake are still very spongy, can anyone help with some solid advice... at wits end

    Many thanks in advance

  2. Hi all, just fitted a set of angel eyes to my 99' 200is and during the splitting of the headlights i removed the amber section. i now need to replace the indicator bulbs for some amber ones.

Any ideas where to get some from? don't like the idea of painting them ,plus would prefer the chrome ones that light up amber , CAN ANYONE HELP ?

Have found these - Used to replace W21W wedge indicators.

These silver coated wedge indicator bulbs blend in with your reflectors taking away the unsightly look of standard amber bulbs. With the same power rating these are direct replacements for your existing bulbs.

Are W21W the right bulbs ?

  3. My clutch now slipps like a bas****, have booked it in with local garagel Lexus quoted £600+. Did you pay that? I'm also having the rear oil seal checked out.

I've been told that a good box oil is called AMS, but check it before you use it.

    Dops

NO i got a clutch kit from someone off of the lexusownersclub think it was Prolex-uk it was £160.00 and had a professional garage fit it for £150.00. a lexus dealer would of charged me £300.00 just for labour which works out still cheaper that £600.00 !!!, let me know how you get on?

  5. What you describe is exactly the symptoms of a slipping clutch. When you put it under load going up a hill the engine revs increase without a corresponding increase in road speed.

That is exactly what i needed to know ,Lokks like i need to find another garage ,luckily i still have the new cklutch kit. many thanks :D

  6. How do i know if my clutch is slipping ? I mostly notice or feel what i think is clutch slip when in 3rd gear going up a hill of if i put my foot down, (sounds like an automatic) plus when i pull away from a junction ,the car does not seem to have a great pull away (eg: does not throw you back in your seat). Bought a clutch kit recently and gave it to a garage to iunstall ,they told me that i did not need a new clutch and they just changed the fluids and adjusted it , was fine for a bit now seems to be worse.

Please can somebody help. :duh:
