You've touched a raw nerve with me there. Lexus will charge you £220.00 for what is an upgrade! By issuing a new disc they are admitting the one supplied is out of date. Therefore, as a simple matter of customer service, an upgrade should be supplied at nominal cost. I've tried to take this up with Lexus U.K. but they refuse to even reply! :tsktsk:

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure your model doesn't have Bluetooth. My 04 SEL certainly doesn't. I've had a Parrot unit fitted which works fine.

I have the Parrot, fitted by the dealer when I bought the car. Very pleased with it.

Has anyone asked Lexus to justify £220 +VAT for what, after all, is a software update? Microsoft or Adobe wouldn't charge anywhere near that to a registered user. Surely, in the interest of good old customer service such an update should be supplied for a nominal amount. It's only Navteq data after all.

Just purchased a RX300 SE--L this weekend. Pre-registered Sept '04 with 18 miles on clock. The dealer didn't think that Bluetooth could be 'retro fitted' but had a local firm fit a Parrot CK3100. I must say I'm impressed with the performance. It mutes the radio and does everything i would expect of it. Sorry but can't answer your technical questions - after spending all that on the car I really believe it's worth "getting a little man in."

Hang on a minute. Bolton happens to be my "nearest" dealer but it's a good 45 minute drive. To take my car there would use the thick end of £20 worth of petrol and, overall, I would use a good two hours of my time. What do they value two hours of their time worth? A bottle of champagne - I don't think so!
