  1. Andy,

I don't know how the LOC or other show organisers cope with things like that. It might sound stupid but would you need something like a Traders License if you were planning on selling them?

  2. Andy,

I change my oil twice inbetween services and use an aftermarket oil filter and Mobile 1, GTX (anything fully synthetic) oil.  Prices vary, but never had any problems.

    Zee.  :)

    Whic Mobil 1 do you use, 0- w-40, 15-w-50?

  3. Andy,

I use Laytex gloves for bits and bobs, armed robbery, breaking and entering :ph34r: but i get them from work so I wouldn't have a clue how much they cost.

As for spare parts I always use genuine Lexus bits just because I have had bad experience in the past with Halfords own stuff etc. If you were planning on installing a Fram oil filter or Ferodo brake pads etc. I would say that would be fine, but I have found using LOC Gold discount parts cost the same from Lexus anyway.

Basically in my opinion cheap parts are cheap for a reason, when it comes to things like brakes is it worth the risk?

    Just my thoughts of course...

  4. Although on a slightly different note, my brother in law sells security / survellance equipment. He thinks he can get a 12v camera (black / white or colour), the processor unit and a 4 inch monitor (black / white or colour) for somewhere between £100 and £150. The monitor size and quality can be increased if required (at a slightly higher cost).

Oh yea, back to the original point. I reckon with a cunningly designed bracket I could mount this camera on the underside of the bumber, discreet probably be only 15-25mm diameter run a few cables through and bob's your uncle full visability when reversing! I know that some lorries currently operate this system that gave me the thought. It's just trying to get all the bits cheap enough now.

    what do you think?

  5. hello,

I had a similar problem with mine and cured it by smearing (sparingly) copper ease between the two anti squeal shim's.

Dead easy to do and seemed to cure the problem. You might find that if you haven't done that many problems it might be a slightly harder particle in the friction lining of the brake pad, so it will just go by it's self when it has worn away, might take a few hundred miles though.

  6. Morning,

I don't know if anybody will be able to help me but I hope so. I'm trying to find some good companies that supply modified bits for a Nissan Almera N16. A very random request for the LOC I know but any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for engine, interior and exterior mods if anything is available.

    Thanks for your help.

  7. On a slightly different note, looks like I may have to sell my Lex, as I have been a very silly boy got engaged and the misses wants to move into a great big house costing me too much money. Considering I already pay a small mortgage on my Lex it has to go...

    :angry::angry::angry:

Looks as though I may be able to pick myself up a cheap Honda Integra Type R, 2000 on a W plate, anyone have any opinions on them?

  8. In my experience they will set the mileage in the new unit to exactly what it was on the old unit. I had the same thing on an A3 I had 2 years back. The technicians said that the mileage was also stored in the computer, in a similar area to the fault codes I suppose. Therefore it can be automatically done by linking the old and new units together. Your lucky in someways, mine was reading above the speed I was doing, which meant that the odo read more miles than I had actually done, yours will read less.

    Does that help at all?
