  1. I stuffed a some felt between the dash and the windscreen on the passenger side...this helped a bit....but beware your vin number in the windscreen.....mines disapeared now!!!!

OK...onto the next bloody squeak...........drivers front seat .....squeaks/creaks when going round bends........sadly I find going round bends rather neccersary........but it's driving me round the bend....any tips!!!!

Had the drivers seat creak/squeak problem - I tightened up the floor bolts and it has been fine since

  2. Ok, I've finally made the discision to get the 450h SE. I don't want the wood steering wheel from the SE-L. The budget is going to stretch to 10 or 12k ontop of trade in for my 06 IS, less than 20k miles no MM.

Do you think a GS 56 or 07 with simmilar mileage, MM and sat nav, is within budget from Lexus approved? Are they going to say my car is only worth 10k?

I'd say the figures look possible, I just switched my 07 250SE-L for an 08 450h SE-L and got a great deal from Lexus Woodford - Have not stopped grinning yet

  3. Having seen this point raised before, when I was talking to a Lexus dealer the other day I asked him about the absence of the feature on some cars. In case this was an example of the dreaded cost cutting that some car manufacturers engage in from time to time - usually when there struggling to make money, case in point being MG Rover before their demise.

He expalined that there were some cars that came from Japan as mis-builds in January 2008. One of his customers had such a car and they offered him compensation for the missing lines.

Personally, I like them but then I think thats more because I like to play with any gadgets rather than for there importance, and having had them on my car to begin with I would be dissapointed having a subsquent car without them.

However if they weren't on there in the first place I dont think it would bother me, as using just the camera image and door mirrors which tip down enable the car to be parked perfectly anyway.

    Regards

    Keith

Just sold the 250 SE-L which had them and purchased 2008 450h SE-L which has the problem - Dealer said same thing that Keith said, a few came over without the system fitted and it's not possible to re-program. Have driven it for a week now and got used to it, no problem. The rocket ship performance outweighs a minor omission.... I wouldn't care if they left the doors off :-)

  4. its more than likely that the battery was disconnected which would have reset the ECU, over a few days it should relearn to a truer reading

I thought that at first as they may have done this when fitting the iPod kit, but wouldn't that have reset the trip mileage as well?

If it helps your state of mind - I left my boot light on for 2 weeks while away which resulted in a flat Battery - once RAC re-started it I noticed both the MPG readouts had reset to zero - trip mileage was not changed - when they fitted your ipod kit I'd presume the Battery disconnect was long enought to reset the mpg to zero - relax :-)

  5. The new IS appears to be taking a right battering on here - I feel genuinely sorry for owners who are having problems but I think we need to redress the balance - and hopefully at the same time find out whether it is a quality control problem at the factory.

If you have a rattle/squeak free new IS register it here and lets see how things balance out:

I know it is early days but here goes:

My model: IS250 Sport, 1200 miles, bought from Lexus Newcastle in March - NO PROBLEMS AND ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED (so far!)

IS250 SE-L small rattle from B Pillar getting sorted next week when in for seat belt re-call work. Love the car, just been to Le Mans 1,000 miles in 4 days and 39 mpg even though fully laden.
