  1. Thanks for all your replies....

    ...but which are better?????

Not wanted for trackdays, just general bombing around. Wanna stay in my seat playing with roundabouts,,,, lol.

    Thanks..

  2. Hi all,

Have unsuccessfully searched for anti-roll bars for RS200 Tezza.

....Can any of you advise to the best manufacturer, price and stockists.......

Don't want to stiffen the suspension, ....just wanna stop the car falling over in corners.

    Thanks in advance.......

  3. Lexus at Southend can/will carry out any work. They are also very quick at getting all Altezza parts.

Cambelt was cheaper at Lexus than Fensport, ....for your info.

Lexus would quote £480 as they will replace all belt tensioners and pulleys. Just bought the whole lot from them cost £256, so add couple hours labour, £480 is reasonable.

Hope you changed tensioner and idlers when doing your belt change.

  4. I have the Electronic Parts Catalog and there is definitely a difference between the AT and MT engines...

Some differences on the cam and valve components.

Would suggest engine-ecu and gearbox change if going for the manual...

...Did also read somewhere that the manuals are more prone to failing emissions regs....

    Hope this helps...

  5. Warning to others!!!!

    Japanese Imports(UK) Ltd......

They are based in Southend (Leigh-on-sea) Essex.

Bought my freshly imported Rs200 from them....

Two weeks after its apparent m.o.t. I had to make them replace all brake pads, f/r, as Lexus informed me all had just 1mm. lining left.

Also had to have rear shocks changed.... leaking, and the rear bushes.

And guess what, their mot's are carried out at their mates test centre, just across the road.

Have since reported the test centre to the DVLA, but unfornately did not do it quick enough to get them bollocked.

Car was apparently serviced when they received it from VOSA, but have since had to change oil, gearbox oil, steering fluid, as all were black treacle, and air, oil, pollen, and gearbox filters.

Hope this helps prevent others from making same mistake as myself. These people are untrustworthy. Be warned. :tsktsk:

  6. Thought that it may be aircon pump.

When stripping down for cambelt change, gonna run car with the two auxillary belts removed. rule out the bolt-ons that way.

    Will keep you informed.....

    Thanks......

  7. Update so far.......

Have just cleaned MAF sensor and reset ecu.

car drives nicer, so an improvement there.... but still is rattling on tick-over.

have cambelt and tensioner on order, as car has 50,000 miles on it, will try that next........

  8. Is there a Lexus headunit that will directly fit an year 2000 Altezza????

I have read lots regarding this, amps, no amps,,,,, toploaders and bottom loaders,

But I am still none the wiser.

    Please help me!!!!!!!

Does anyone have the IS200 and Altezza pinout diagrams????

    Thanks in advance. :hehe:

  9. Hi to all.

A new member here but been visiting for some time now. :)

    I have a 2000 RS200 with a rattle.

Seems to be coming from low down on the engine. Right hand side as you look under bonnet.

The rattle is not there when it is cold, but is noticeable once warmed and idling. I have noticed that it goes if you increase the the rpm to just above idle, about 1000rpm. Car seems to run fine apart from this damn rattle.

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks in advance.
