  1. I Have been putting winter tyres on my IS250 Auto from new, Got a spare set of identical alloys from eBay and fitted them with mitchelin winter tyres the same sizes as the standard tyres.

I usually put them on in December and take them off in April. This will be the fifth winter for the tyres and they will need replacing next winter.

Got caught out this year with the early snow and could not even get turned in the street with the normal tyres on.

As it was the weekend decided to try a little experiment so I fitted the 2 back wheels, Drove into the road where there was hard packed snow, Applied the foot brake enough to lock the front wheels and tried to pull away.

Bit of wheelspin but the winters pushed me along the road with the front wheels locked.

  2. I went with the lexus warranty on my IS250. 6 month in the air conditioning packed in, Diagnosed as a leak on the exchanger and would need replacing. When asked if I wanted to go ahead I told them I had an extended lexus warranty. Date arranged, Courtesy car delivered and car picked up repaired and returned. (I live 45 miles from dealership). Don't think you would get this service from a third party warranty.

  3. Well, it only ever happened the one time around 3 months ago. Not happened since. The annoying thing is the concern at the back of your mind that it could happen again, but when? Who knows.

I'll just take care to ensure that the 'key' gets special treatment from now on... :winky:

    Mark.

I had this happen to me a couple times not long after I got the car. Both times I had been sitting

at my PC in the upstairs spare room with the key fob in my jeans pocket.

So I moved the chair to the window so that I could see the car and started to move about on the

seat and hey presto the windows opened.

I went to the dealer and they were able to disable this function for me and it seems

to have cured the problem as it has not happened for over a year now.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Ian
