Dont overfill it, not good for the engine. Go by your dipstick. You could start it up checking your oil pressure light goes out and run it for a while, then allow to cool, re-check and top-up if necessary. The chances that you got all the oil out of the engine are slim and the amount you put back in sounds reasonable to me.

  2. My new IS 250 has 750 miles on it and seems to have developed a rattle when under load, ie climbing a hill. It sounds like its coming from the engine bay but may well be from behind the dash. Is this the symptoms of the dash rattle.

Also, I have straps for a first aid kit but no kit supplied, is this usual?

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for replies.

My gauge is extremely accurate, dont use petrol stations and tyres were cold.

The reason I ask is on my previous 330i Sport it would go through rear tyres in 6,000 miles (albeit pirellis) at the recommended 42 psi rear. There would be say 2mm in the centre and 4mm at the sides, so obviously over inflated.

  4. What tyre pressures is everone running on SE's with 17" wheels. The manual reckons 35 front and 38 (psi) rear for under 100mph. I took delivery of the car with 38 front and 40 rear.

Anyone covered enough miles to comment on wear and inflation pressure?

    Thanks

  5. Hi

New here after previous cars being 3 series have decided to defect to Lexus. Have purchased an IS 250SE, Argento with Sussex interior.

Test drove the car and it was so much smoother than my current 330i Sport, lot cheaper too.

Didn't find the car fidgety ot twitchy as some magazines have reoprted, felt planted. However, compared to the 330i the engine feels quite lethargic but gues this is part of the refined experience.

Any advise or things to be aware of would be appreciated.

    Thanks
