I'm not sure if the IS300 shortshift will fit a UK IS200?
I thought the US IS300 gearbox is different from the UK IS200? The US got a manual IS300, but the UK only got the IS300 as a auto.
Yeah that's what i thought but i got it at a good price and i can usually make these things fit with a little bit of effort.
i will post my findings when i have had a chance to fit it.

Shortshifter fitting guide
I used the linked guide myself.
Which shortshifter did you get? I got a B&M shortshifter last week- I think its great!
Thanks for the fast reply, i got a ralco short shifter from usa, hope it fits because its for the is300, if it doesn't i will just modify it or make a new one to fit.
cheers

I had this same prob not so long ago and it was low brake fluid its worth a shot mate
The brake fluid is well within the limits, thanks for the advise though, would have been a nice cheap fix.

you need to have the fault code read to be sure as it can be caused by various things. Is the engine management light on?
Fair point, no the engine management light is not on.

Hi and a happy new year to you all.
My traction control off light has started to flash on and off when driving along, when you switch the ignition on the light goes off as it should but shortly after driving it starts to flash,it doesnt do anything when you press the button.
Has anyone had this problem or any ideas what it could be.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Yeah i read somewhere you need to change the wiring loom to make it work.
Not a job for the faint hearted.

Had a look in the engine bay, nothing loose there, so its pull the dash to pieces time.
Will post a thread if i find the problem.

Hi All
I have an annoying noise coming from somewhere behind the dash, it sounds like a spring rattling/vibrating.
Has anyone had this problem?
If so is it fixable, dont really want to take the dash apart if i cant sort it.
Steve
Steve, a word of caution, I once had a "Dash Rattle" on a 306 DTS, I was convinced it was behind the glovebox, stripped it and found nothing, it was only on tickover if stood still. I eventually traced it to the engine, a clip had broken and a cable was knocking on the bulkhead.
Is does sound like its coming from behind the dash but thanks for the advice i will definately check the engine bay out first.

you really dont need a torque setting for that - just tighten it
Ok thanks,
its always worth asking the question.

if you need some help feel free to give me a shout. :)
Ok thanks, when i get round to doing it i will give you a shout.

It looks good when done but u gotta buy the sat nav housing which costs alot, if i had the option to do mine again i would get one of the double din dvd players the kenwood ones nice, kinda goes with the car as well being allll black
Thanks for the advice, i will look into the sat nav way but keep in mind the double din option as a fall back.
Cheers

Yeah thanks it would be much appreciated,
i am LED to believe that you have some chrome heater dial surrounds for sale, do you still have them and how much are you asking and how easy are they to fit.
Thanks in advance
Steve :)

Hi Steve and welcome
can i suggest you just replace the discs, they are prone to warping, by skimming them you will just increase the likleyhood of them warping again
there are various outlets here on LOC for standard or performance discs, and they are all much cheaper than dealer prices
:)
Hi Bazza
Thanks for the advice, will save myself some time and just get some new discs.
cheers

Hi and Welcome to LOC!
I haven't done anything in terms of performance mods - mainly functional and visual mods (see my signature).
Another good thing would be to paint them brake calipers!
Happy motoring.
D.
Thanks i might just do that when i take the discs off to skim them up, hopefully that will solve the juddering.
Cheers

Welcome, I have some chrome heater surrounds for the a/c dials .... they look pretty neat with the rest of the chrome inside ............ :)
Yeah they do look really good, nice bit of extra bling, how much did you pay for them?
-
Hi to all,
I've had my is200se for just over 6 months and recently joined the LOC (Excellent owners club by the way).
Absolutely love the car apart from the front brakes, annoying judder.
I have fitted a sports grille (£30 +vat from lexus dealer - bargain) and a stainless steel exhaust tail pipe trim, subtle mods but effective i think.
The only thing i have done to the interior so far is to replace the awful black cigar lighter and fit a stainless steel cigar lighter knob (E-bay- £3.99 another bargain) which looks really good and matches the gearknob perfectly.
does anybody have any good suggestions to improve an already smart interior?
Thanks in advance :)

Short Shifter Fitting Guide?
in Modifications & Tuning
Posted
Hi all,
just a quick update on my ralco short shifter, yes you were right it didnt fit, it was too long so i cut it down and re-welded the bottom ball back on and with a little fettling it works, i reckon it has reduced the throw by about 60%, really made a big difference to the car, i like it :D
