  1. Just checking in to see if anyone has a definitive answer on which O2 sensors I need.

I'm pretty sure there are two on the manifolds at the top of the engine, each with one wire. Judging from research here on the board there is also one down by the cat, but does anyone know how many wires it has?

    Hi

I have just changed all 3 sensors on my 1996 Mk1 GS300. I fitted 4 wire universal type which I purchased from here:- http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lambda-sensors.php You will have to unplug, then cut the wiring and then re-wire as stated :- http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lambda-wiring-advice.php I also changed my Cat which I also purchased from here:- http://www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk/lexus-ca...c-converter.php The sensor underneath the car is a bit of a pain as you have to pull the carpet out on drivers side floorwell to get at plug etc. but otherwise, an easy job.

Sensible prices and job done :)

  2. Hi All

    Again, a great forum.

Right then, I have a new key as provided by Lexus and a remote keyfob for my (96) GS300. Lexus Brighton were able to get the remote keyfob working without any problems but they could not register the new key. I was given both items to take away and play (no charges as yet -- wowee) along with two different sets of instructions for performing the required action. Neither work for me either. All the ignition lights come on, as expected, but cranking the engine verifies the immobiliser is still doing it's job and the car will not start.

Any further clues will be greatfully received and perhaps Lexus of Brighton might learn as well.

Of course it may be a duff key, but this will entail obtaining yet another through them, just to prove this, Grrr.

    Cheers

  3. Hi all

    I am yet another newbie.

I became the owner of an 1996 (older) GS300 about 1 month ago and thus far am very pleased with the car.

There are a couple of questions I will ask presently, but just thought I would say Hi for now.

I am an ex Nissan Skyline owner whom has decided that perhaps a bit more comfort and definately 4 doors are all beneficial.

    Cheers

    Graham
