I'm in the same position as you Filter so we're looking at all the same cars.
Did you find out how often the cambelt needs changing on the LS400? Or anyone else know?
Me too
I am looking to replace my Honda Legend with a Lexus. Always wanted one, but could not afford it earlier.
I have spotted a "R" reg 1998 at 50K miles at < £9K
ANy thoughts on that.
Is this a mk1v ?
I've also seen a facelifted 98 reg at 138K miles but under £5K ?
WOuld appreciate if someone could indicate views.

I picked my LS up on Sunday and have covered about 330 miles in it since. I love it, it's the most relaxing car I have ever driven and I've been returning between 31-33 mpg on the motorway :) . It gives you a feeling of detatchment from the outside traffic mayhem, still getting used to the car but I'm so impressed with it so far, everything I wanted and some.
The only thing I've yet to get used to is parking and the general size of the car.
Gald to hear that. Did you buy from dealer or was it private. And if you don't mind how much was the mileage and price.
I'm looking so any indication of dealers or prices wuill be useful

Come and see mine! Its for sale at around £4000, see swap for on Cars for sale. Its not immaculate but its only a bit of bumper damaged and its almost not worth fixing!
I may be interested. Is it a mk iv?
as for the 3 mentioned above:
"... touch dubious of the third. No mileage stated but it's below 100k (filtered search). Seems kind of cheap for a V plate! "
It's actually 175K miles.
Not sure if that's still a bargin or not.
I'm looking too. but have budget of <£9K.

i did see the "R" reg at Walton.
138K, but the chap was too talkative to feel comfortable. In the end, I walked away. Seemsl ike car is still there for sale.
Having driven it, though, I must say that I do like my legend. I also noticed that the booth space is not that as much as the legend.
