If you have the sat nav too (think so with the SE in your profile) you need a bypass box so the sat nav works aswell.
http://www.fargosys.com/html/sat_nav_bypass_module.html
But you need to read this too http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...7720&st=220 as the wires were different in the SE.

Just finished fitting it to the two wired connector and works a treat.
Thanks for all the help :)

brilliant thanks :)

Glad i asked before i went chopping ;)
There are two that go into the stereo bit, one thats (from memory) full, and the other has just two wires on the whole plug.
-
Nice tutorial.
Can we get a picture with the needles lit please :)

Had the same problem very easy to reslove, for the SE models there are two connectors which connect to the original lexus system, you need to chop of the module and connect this to the two pin module ISO in your lexus, the module has one power and one earth just match them up with the lexus iso cable, i think its a pink (power) and brown (earth) one this should work!
So you are saying that there is no need for this extra box i am trying to wire in?
And the original connector for the stereo, the two wire one, gets spliced into a live and earth?

are you actually working on your own IS or the maties you 'brought' the unit from.
I bought the unit from eBay and its beiing fitted to a mates IS200
-
Yes i only removed the bigger connector.
-
how many connectors are there on your headunit, ie how many plugs 'plug' into the back of the head unit.
Two mate.
One is full and the other has just two wires in it.
-
Just tried it and still not working.
-
Thanks, will report back tomorrow.
-
thats pins 9 & 10, try pins 5 & 15 (red with blue stripe & red with white stripe directly underneath pin 5)
chop off the module and reconect to 5 & 15
let me know
Does it matter which one matches with which out of the module?
will try it tomorrow
Thanks.

Hi, did you recieve my first email.
in anycase sounds like we need to simply connect the black unit to two different wires instead of the current two, this is due to model changes across the years of manufacture.
What colour wires is the unit connected to at the moment.
Hi they are connected to the orange and white wires.
If you hold it with the wires going away from you its the top left and the right one next to it.
Thanks.

On the Is 200 SE i ahve done the bypass lead to the amp and the stereo works fine.
We found Thislead on ebay and it plugs into the original stereo connector but the sat nav wont work.
The actual motor still opens the screen to view, just i have got no sat nav.
Think i did everything right as the stereo works ok.
Just this extra bit doesn't seem to do the job intended
Fargo the chap that originally sold and makes the lead is a member on here send him a pm as it sounds like somethings not wired up right? there are a few members on here with the lead and say it works fine?
Ah right i will, thanks for that.

I have a mk3 astra with angel eyes and have them fitted to both my dipped and mains.
I passed the MOT fine, although mines does have projector lights for the dipped.
Just did this small vid, ignore the angle i was parked down a hill.
My car (for now)

Thanks for that link, answered everything :)

A universal kit.
Also does the N/S headlight have to come out, looks a bit tight from the picture i have seen.
-
Is it all plug and play?
Is the connector pictured below the same as on a 200, or does it need cutting off and spades fitting?
Thanks
-
yes, disconnect it from the amp, then that plug goes into the loom you got.
