  1. Hi guys..

well i can see the original thread is still going.. well i figured out that my problem was the breaks. failed MOT on break binding. anyway had the breaks changed and passed the MOT and the car was fine for about month and a half 2 months and just recently it has started doing the same problem... shakes really bad at about 50 - 60 mph.

I have read a a few other posts about this and seems like the calipers need changing.

just wandering how much they normally are and whats the best place to get them from?

Car: Is 200 sport Y plate

    Thanks

  2. Right quick update... drove it today on a 15-20 mile trip into leicester and it was shaking really bad so i just took it to the first garage and asked them to re balance all the wheels again.

They told me that the back ones were off balance, got that done and drove it back without any problems. seems to drive better at the lower speeds and around 45-55-60 it was fine.

Gonna keep driving it later today to see if it happens. one thing i have noticed is that when i break my steering does vibrate but i know i need to get net pads maybe new discs.

also im not sure if anyone else has it but my gear stick shakes a fair bit at high revs and also when breaking?

need to get it services in the next week or so , hopefully with the breaks done and a service all these little niggly bits be sorted out..

Thanks for all the help guys

  3. Most ppl seem to think it might be the tyres out of shape..

the reason i dont think its the tracking and balaencing is that iv had the tracking set by tony from wim and it was fine for about 2 - 3 months and i only took it back to him for a recheck after the problem was occuring and the tracking was the same as he had set it.

i also had all 4 wheels re balanced since the problem started occuring.

i dont understand why it only happens between them speeds tho.. if im on the motorwa at 70 its fine with no problems.

i have read on these forums that somtimes the breaks get warped could that be possible?

    Thanks for the reply's

I'd say it's wheel balancing, some of the weights could have come off maybe??
  4. Hi Guys,

got a little problem with my car been happening the last month or so. when i am driving around 50-60 my car shakes really badly. the steering shakes really bad and so does the car. if i go above 60 it is fine and there is no problem same if i am going below 45-50

Iv had it set by tony at WIM and also had it rechecked after this started happening but the set up was fine and nothing had changed. Iv had all the wheels re balanced. and the problem still happens.

Some people iv spoke to have said that it could be becuase my discs have bent/warped? or maybe the bushes?

I know that i need to change my front discs and pads could this be the reason?

dunno if this has happened to anyone before? any help would be good

    Thanks

  5. Hi guys,

been tryin to get hold of tony from WIM but cannot find any contact details.

on his website it has the number for Kiplings but i know he use to have another number for himself.

    anyone know what it is?

dunno if you guys can help but what has happened is the steering wheel shakes/vibrates really back between 45-55 but its ok above 60 and also vibrates really bad when coming down from a high speed and going through 45-55.

    Thanks guys

  6. not sure this is possible.

the only way it can be done is if you post the document/speadsheet back in the public folder

your better off asking the IT guys to put it on a network share and then share the workbook through excel

  7. Hi Guys

Well i went to WIM on sat to get my car set up. MY *** i was lucky. back tyres had HUGE cracks in the inner tyre wall. only recently had new front tyres put on as the nylon was showing.

anways after about spending 400 on 4 tyres and gettin the Dr to set it up it feels grate. a lot of responsive on the steering. a lot smoother to drive. it dont shake no more at 60-70.

not really had time to test how well it handles yet but i will do soon.

Noticed that it pulls to left slighty on the motorway but Dr said that might happen and will sort it when i go back after 2000 miles

Just wanna say thanks to Tony did a brill job and very helpful and friendly. Shows you exactly what he is doing and how it will make a difference.

Thanks again from a very happy customer

  8. Iv been meaning to get it done for ages and now that iv moved to london its a lot easier than when i was in leicester. It was the other day when i was at the petrol station that i noticed how bad it was, i could see the nylon coming through on one of my front tyres

im sure it will be worth it

  9. Hi guys, hope all you Lexus's are running good.

Had my IS200 Sport for about month an a half now, been reading a few posts about getting the geometry checked.

I was just wandering what they actually do when they check the geometry, is it expensive to do?

does anyone know anywhere in the midlands that will do it, Leicestershire area or around there.

Also im looking at getting a head unit. I was just wandering if any of you have any pics of what it look as the standard has the 6 cd changed built into the front. what does it look like when this is removed and a different one is fitted.

Post your pics if you have any ..

    Thanks people
