have a look round for your local gas bottle supplier, most of the have LPG tank and most of them are cheaper than the supermarket's, supermarket's are open better hours and morrison's you get your points to ;)
-
You would have to put about £20 to £30 of petrol in to get the mileage contdown to reset.
That would last the life of the car! Unless I run out of LPG and can't find a refill station, only cost me £80 ish for 400 miles in the wife's mk3 for our last holiday 2 weeks ago
-
I am flabbergasted about this!
2 gallons (9 litres) for £10? Whereabouts is your car located? 2005?
2 gallons ish, think it's £1.35 here, I don't buy the expensive stuff often! LPG is around 70p here

make's sense, when I first got the car I put fuel in it and it registered 130 miles left I think, not used that much of the petrol but a fair amount of LPG in the meantime... guess I'll have to find another thing for it to display, while i'm on topic, what's the function button for ? just dosn't seem to do anything on my car (not sure if it's working as I'm not sure what it should change)

I did a search on here but found nothing, my MK4 running on LPG keeps saying on the dash tank range 0Mi altho I have 1/4 tank, I even put another £10 (2 gallon should show at least 20 miles) in to double check the gauge was ok, pressed reset on multiple things but no success
any ideas ?

sadly due to family commitment's I won't be able to attend, hope you all have a good day tho !

Managed to get back out on it today (had a weekend away MCN live) all 8 of the injectors were coated in dirt, all now cleaned, still was a little lumpy, I've changed the plugs again to be sure there was no duff one's and was horrified, I knew Pete mentioned the car had new plugs, leads and coils all which is evident (almost!) while changing the plugs I found 2 brand new leads which had been damaged the repaired (badly) and replaced and 2 leads which look to be original lexus leads... I'm guessing Pete you had the car back to the converting garage to do the work as the LPG reg is situated in such a way the plug change couldn't of happened with the reg being moved, going to fit 2 new injectors later in the week which should hopefully cure the issue

All,
Recently bought a car with this install...
Spot any horrors? It's a 'Romano' system, whatever that means!
Can't see the photos properly as I'm on my phone, however first and foremost thing I can see is the ecu is fitted incorrectly, if the installer has installed this wrongly what other shortcuts has he done??
With any ecu fitted to any car it needs to be either installed with the cables down or hidden within a water proof box
I saw just before Christmas a car with a ecu fitted like that, cost the customer £250 for a new ecu only 3 weeks after having the car converted

A little update Pete and other with intrest on the LPG side, upon getting into the LPG ecu I found the car to be under fueling, little tweaks got it better but not 100% yet only got 30 mins on it when kids were going to bed, hope to get more time on it soon
-
They all need shooting! Be so much easier, even if the LPG world was regulated there would still be bad conversions, I've seen some car's for sale in my time with 12 months mot with bald tyres, bad breaks, broken exhausts, where money can change hands there will always be greed and corruption

2 or 3 of the big insurance company's use it as an excess to load premium's, but then 1 of the biggest insurance company last year refused to renew my insurance after 3 years with them simply because I'm a part time trader and they no longer wish to insure traders without business premises
-
You can gain LPGA status without ever converting a car! Makes perfect sense to everyone I'm sure, most insurance company's these days will take a certificate from a competent person, I've not know anyone to have issues with certificates I've produced
-
Pete (sorry for the Peter reference before, auto correct on my phone)would have to confirm this bit not very old from memory, the installer has a bad reputation due to veing expensive and dragging work out,but is listed as both LPGA approved and council approved around these parts so gets quite a lot of work for those reason's alone
-
Just a little update for you Peter, I'm guessing the aircon was very poor in your care, hooked it up today and drew out 170g of gas which should of been 700g, the LPG conversion.... Where do I start with it? Nearly every LPG carrying pipe was loose to the point one of the rubber hoses twisted by hand, the LPG pipes from feed rail to LPG injectors are all perished (looks like non LPG approved hose. To me but can't say 100%) due to no marking on the pipe, once the pipes are changed and I get a little more time I'll get it on the computer see what's going on with it

This car now joins my collection, first thoughts was to break the car but feel it's to good for that, will be getting mot done Monday few little jobs wife has decided to pinch it for the next few weeks, wife already found some dislikes mind! The ariel had come out back of radio fixed that to find no real radio (105.4) due to the head unit being import version and the car not being as fast as my mk4 typical for her never happy!

Now after cleanin g the boot and cleaning the nav unit out poppex a lexus nav disk 98, put it in loggo faceing up , disk unreadable open door , put it in shinny up loggo down same, so going to get a cleaning disk to see if it helps.
Just my 2p worth, I know with merc especially you can't use an older sat nav than the year of your car manufacture, if your ls is a 2000 you will need a 2000 onwards cd, this is not 100% accurate maybe someone can confirm?

My pain in the rear end wife has been driving for just over 2 years, 1st year she had her own insurance and had a 1.4 manual Citreon ZX, after her first year she could go on my trade insurance since then she refuse's to drive manual's only auto's, she begged for an auto diesel just before Christmas drove it twice then said to slow I want a petrol/LPG auto.... She changes her car every few months, I needed her to drive my lexus the other day, she had a very big grin on her face when she got out! I had to put my foot down as my number plate in on my lexus, may need to look out for an rx in a few months now...

Only vehicle I have in my possession with less than 6cylinders is a gpz 500motorbike, all my cars are 6 cyl + rangeing from 3.2 straight 6 jag to a 4.3 v8 s class gas is great ;) each 1 of my cars is cheaper to run then my farther in laws 12 plate Meriva diesel (unless I'm playing with boy racers in 2t+ cars that is)

Photo's would be good, mine's blowing aswell, sadly the wife's car comes first and as she has a range rover you can imagine I'm ALWAY'S working on the damn thing!

Just tried my system.
If you take the CD out, then you are right the MENU button does not work.
I get a message saying to stick the MAP CD in when I hit the menu button.
So looks like your a bit stuck.
More than happy to cut you a copy of the CD (or is it DVD) I am not sure, as a replace costs £70+.
So let me know. I'll be on line most of today and tomorrow.
Pete
what version of the CD-ROM do you have ? I'm looking for an update 1 I have 2004-2005 think the latest is 2006-2007 for LS400 MK3?

Thanks for your advise. The strange thing is, it only came on once. I have since done around 60 odd miles, and everything is fine. Would the fault show up when checked, or would the fault have to be on going, Also if this warning came up again, do you think it would be ok to use the car?
Tom
most OBD faults have 2 condition's
Current fault = light on
stored fault = light normally off but code stored for diagnostic purpose's
as advised get it on a OBD reader, if your anywhere near liverpool I can do it for free
-
Well it finished again around the same magic number, £1100 odd, are we taking bets as to when it's going to be relisted?
Think I'll Get Me Angle Grinder Out.
