I remember my MK1 Sport and it had 18x10 at the rear with a 42mm offset and 5 x 114.3 PCD can't remember the tyre width and section though but will look around.
Lexus.co.uk used to carry the spec of the old GS versions

Hope you remember to get someone to walk in front of your car checking for potholes
I have put the local council's roads hotline on speed dial. :winky:
-
Looks ace!
BUT
What happens to the ride when the road gets rough? I can't imagine it's as comfy as it was.
well i don't intend to take it down any farm tracks or do any green laneing.
Ride is fine a little more road noise and i now hate speed humps but on the motorway not a lot different.

That sounds very nice mate :D You'll have to get some pics posted up, Which wheels did you go for mate as they all look very nice? B)
Sorry links were not working hopefully you can see the photos now

After fitting Tanaba NF210 Springs i have now fitted 20 inch wheels from vossen wheels :D
20x9 on the front and 20 x10.5 on the rear and had fitted Falken tyres 245/30R20 and 285/25 R20 respectively
-
Yep my mechanic said the same thing and i might wait till i get my 20 inch rims which is hopefully in the next 6-8 weeks, if the manufacturer plays ball :D
Nice one matey, looks awesome but was just gonna say that you needed some bigger rims in those dumped arches but seems you were one step ahead of me :winky:
It's going to look fantastic once you get the rims on - are you planning to get the TTE kit on as well or leave the rest as it is? Personally I think the GS looks great with the kit on but haven't really seen a properly done up GS in the UK yet
TTE is good, but expensive. I do prefer the Wald Internaitonal Kit. Wald GS 300 kit
and i am looking at Vossen wheels :D

looks great.. :)
Thanks spikes. I was a little worried as a far as i am aware i was the first to try this and no one could tell me if the US springs would fit a UK car so i rolled the dice and it looks so far that i won.
-
Looking very good matey :D Be worth having a Geometry setup when they have settled down to improve things further :D
Thanks bandit

After picking up a set of Tanabe NF210 springs in the US. Today i had them fitted.
They fitted fine with no problems and my mechanic said these were some of the best fitting spring he had seen although they where hardwork to put on.
The first photo is the after and before shot that shows the drop although they haven't fully settled yet.
The ride is almost near standard but it does feel more planted and better round the bends.

HI All
Going to be purchasing a new set of RIMS for the car and want to keep the original RIMs for winter use and European trips so need to get a second set of Tyre Pressure Monitor Sensors (TPMS)
Have spent two nights on-line trying to find an alternative supplier of the TMPS with no luck.
My local Lexus dealer quoted £141+vat per sensor...Ouch!!
The US sensors use a different frequency so no way of getting a cheaper set which only cost $380!!!
Anyone know where i can get a set without have to through the dealer network or do you know a dealer that is prepared to do a deal?
Cheers

OK i have purchase a set of NF210 springs from the USA for my 2006 GS300SE and asked my local Lexus Dealer to fit them and they seem unwilling.
I am based in Bournemouth and was hoping someone can recommend an independent garage / mechanic that would do a good job and is Lexus savvy and not more than a 2 hours drive away.
Any recommendations welcome.
Cheers

Just fitted the new Vaistech SL2Vi and have full Video playback on my Navigaiton LCD screen and full CD emulation on playlists.
Sounds great and the videi is sweet. Only took an hour to fit.
-
has anyone successfully fitted one to a 2006 GS300SE with Navigation??
-
You may want to offer them to Top Gear as they are looking for a set of seats. After the fire in warehouse in the summer,
Not trying to be flippant but they have a need and you have seats.
You never know you could get a few tickets to the show and jump the queue.

I am getting rid of the IS220DSE as the fuel economy was really getting on my wick and have purchased a 2006 GS300SE. As i may as well have power if i can't have fuel economy
I am now looking at dropping the GS and putting on some 19 or 20 inch wheels as many of our US cousins have already. They are using Tananbe, Eibach or Tein springs.
I have used Eibach in the past, however these seem to be the most extreme and would like to get a view of a UK GS MK3 owners who have dropped their rides. As the US driver like their rides a little softer and i would guess their standard spring rate would be different to ours.
Also does any one know the Spring rate of the UK/ Euro standard springs on a GS300SE?

glad your ok
what part of the A35 was you on ???
Between Christchurch and Lyndhurst . Hence the big run off areas.
-
As someone who is heavy footed and is an expedient driver and likes to get where i am going in good time and likes to have the Aircon on all the time., The fuel economy stinks for a diesel i had a Mark5 Golf GT TDI company car before this and i would thrash the pants off it and it always return over 40 mpg.
With the IS220SE the best i have ever got on a Normal run "80-90" on motorway is 35 mpg and then if i want to overtake the caravan owners club or old dears in the Nissan Micras doing 40 on the A roads on the way home this can drop to as low as 30 on a 150 mile trip to work and back.
This car has now done 20K and had the injectors changed as when i first got it it ran rougher than a Massey Fergerson and was getting the same mileage as above.
I have never felt i was getting 177bhp and the sixth gear is unusable below 75mph. I was promised sporty performance and good fuel economy (over 40mpg)
I had just had the ECU update on wednesday but haven't yet seen if that has done any goods as it is now at the body shop after an accident yesterday. :tsktsk:
Could of brought a 330D or 530D or Merc320SDI and got the same mileage and the same if not more power.
Overall won't be waiting till the end of the 36 month lease before I trade out. Back to Petrol and sod the MPG.
-
Sorry to hear about the prang...it's a shame to see the car adorned with dents etc.
May I ask what your mpg was that made you so disconsolate in the first place...how low is low??
Hope everything gets sorted out.
As someone who enjoys their driving and has a mixture of fast A roads and motorway to work and back but even with using that useless 6th gear i still only get low 30-33mpg and even been as low as 28!!
Only time i got decent mileage was up to 40 when i was caught in traffic down the M3 and averaged 53mph.
compared to my VW 2.0TDI Golf GT Mark 5 this is abysmal i could trash the pants of that all day and still get 40.
Have you had it checked out to make sure there is no other 'hidden' damage?Jamie
Something did feel a little off as i drove home
Had a look once it went on to the low loader and there are some broken plastics underneath.
Hope to know more later once the experts have taken a look and got it on the jig.
-
DUDE, sorry to hear this
so how fast was you going???
about 50mph as i left the road
