  1. Hi,

So since it's winter I one morning discovered that my IS200 had the same problem. The back heats up just fine but the bottom part doesen't. I took your advice and checked the fuses. I found a fuse on the drivers side (left side of the car in my case) that was named SEAT HTR. Now i'm thinking this is the heated seat fuse, but is there really one fuse for two seats? Anyway that fuse was ok so i'm out of ideas. Don't really want to go to the dealer as well with this minor problem.

P.S I recently had my sound system upgraded, and i wonder if those quys maybe messed it up.

  2. Hi guys!

I've read all the horror stories on this site, but i never thought my radio would break. Anyway this morning i decided to change some cd-s in my box as i haven't done it for a few months. I had 4 cd-s in my box and i added one. A strange schreeching sound followed and then error 3 appeared. What is also interesting is that it doesn't show that there are 5 cd-s in the box but 4. My IS is a 2004, so it has the newer radio.

Anyway what should i do? I've read that it's quite expensive or impossible to fix it so I'm thinking a huge hammer to get my cd-s back and a new alpine radio. Or is there anyway to fix it?

  3. Hi!

So recently after I replaced my alloys i started to think about a subwoofer. I picked one out but i have a question. Is it possible to install a subwoofer with the original stereo, because i really like the look of the stereo and don't want to replace it. Also does the IS have a separate amplifier somewhere or is it connected to the radio?

Hope you can understand what i mean

    thnx

  4. Hi everybody!

Ok this is a small problem but i thought i'd share a thought. Has anybody else noticed how not scratch resistant the IS200 interior is. I mean seriously, the passanger side dash is so easy to scratch. I was wondering if there were others like me out there wondering the same. Is there any way to counter this(Probably not just a thought though). My IS is a 2003 and before me kept by a business women who drove alone most of the time so when i got it was in pretty good nick. After i've been driving it there are pretty intresting scratches on the passanger side dash. I don't know maybe i have to change my friends. Anyway if anybody finds this post odd don't read it :P :D just thought i'd spark a conversation

    Cheers

  5. Hi.

Ok so the weather here today was awful. There is a lot of snow here in Estonia and thanks to that a bad thing happened to me while i was driving home from work a few hours ago. Basicly a 7. series BMW cut me off at a slow speed but I still had to hit the brake hard. Since it seemed likely that the 7. series would get a nice imprint of a lexus badge on it's rear end i figured what the hell and pulled the handbrake. Thankfully thanks to that i managed to stop just in time. I was just wondering have i damaged my rear axle or my diff now?? Im quite new to this AT stuff :D :crybaby:

  6. Hiya all,

I just thought I would post up a quick question about your IS in the ICE. Mine seems to be unbelievable twitchy at slow speeds. I have tried the SNOW button and this seems to make the car seem worse. I think alot of it is down to this car being the first Rear Wheel drive car I have owned. but i didnt think it would be this bad.

Is anyone else having the same feeling about the IS in the ICE???

    Cheers

It can be a bit difficult at first. Take my advice take the car to an empty parking lot and get the feel for it. I think it's down to the TRC system which is quite frankly rubbish. In normal cars you can drive safely with the TRC on and have a little fun when you turn it off. In the IS you can have some fun when the TRC is on and a big crash when it's off..

  7. just be careful if you do so that the accelerator cable isn't stretching when the pedal is fully pressed , really the way to adjust it is to have someone hold the throttle pedal to the floor , while you adjust the cable so as to have a fully open throttle only at that point.

To tell you the truth i think i'll let it be because im not that good at fixing cars myself. It probably wont damage the car anyway so it's just an inconvinience. :whistling:

  8. Hi.

Ok so recently i've noticed that my throttle pedal has a about 1cm on of free play- meaning it moves down one centimeter and doesen't do anything after that it starts working. I was wondering if this was normal on all IS-es or is mine broken. I mean if i want to push it to the floor and there is 1 cm of free play than it wont go fully down??

    Cheers

  9. My GS used to do this between 2nd and 3rd (I think) from time to time, the car wouldn't ease off the throttle before engaging gear. Resetting the ECU cleared it.

If I remember correctly it's the EFI and ECTS fuses which are in the engine bay fusebox. Pull them both for 30 seconds, then put them back. If the car then won't start, leave the key in the "Run" (i.e. the normal driving position) for 6 minutes, then try again.

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a shot but does the car radio need a code after you reset the ECU? I have all the original documents but can't seem to find it? Also the car has had it's regular services at the lexus dealer so the transmission fluid should'nt be a a problem

  10. Hi everybody!

Im having some problems with my automatic transmission in my IS. It is a 2003 with about 50 000 miles on the clock. The thing is the gear changes have gotten a bit jerkyer and I was wondering if the clutch was going. Another thing that could affect it is that winter is coming and it's quite cold now, so could that be the case.

The car has been looked after and not raced and so on.. :crybaby: any Ideas?

  11. Hi!

I've just noticed something very annoying on my 03 is200. The front seats seem to be loose. I don't know exactly how to explain this, but the bottom half of the front seat moves a little while accelarating or braking. I was just wondering if i was the only one having this problem

    Cheers taavi

  12. Hi everybody.

I recently noticed that my front left fog light has gone out and well i wanted to change it. Naturally I dug out my user manual and it said i had to remove the two screws and it will come out....What happend was that i removed the screws and it didn't move.. I didn't want to break anything so i decided to get some help here. Is there any trick to doing this?

  13. Hi.. i wanted to make a little update...

I just got my car back from Lexus Estonia and wow was i suprised! Lexus really did a good job. unfortunatly they decided my waterpump needed replacing aswell...but oh well at least it's fixed now :D This car has never been so shiny :D anyway the car looked so good i grabbed a decent camera and did a few beauty shots.

I' ve been wondering about the green paint. Is it thinner than the regular paint? I mean my car is only 4 years old but the bonnet looks like a gravel quarry has fallen on it  Been trying to fix it with a chipstick, but i quess at some point i need to get it resprayed....just wondering if anyone got the same problem...

  14. Hi.

My car also is quite responsive and sounds very nice, but since i live in Estonia and well our weather here is absolutely awful, the traction control doesn't work that well in wintery contidions. It lets the tail slide out quite a bit actually, even though the yellow traction control light is flashing. In the summer time and slippy conditions it works like a charm :winky:

What's recently got me worried is a quiet clunk in the steering when ju try to streer widely at low speeds while breaking. Is this common on all IS-s or is mine broken? :tsktsk: It's like driving trough a pot hole but a lot quieter....

Ah from Estonia? My girlfriend is Estonian. "Kuidas Lehab?"(forgive if i mispelled im only learnin Esti) I've the same knock coming from my Altezza when i brake parking on a hill etc, only ever at low speeds, coming to a complet stop . As mentioned something to do with the brake pad holder thing! ill be over in Estonia in July, maybe i give ya a shout!

Wasnt very confident in my Altezza when i first got it, very jumpy rear end always afraid of taking a corner too fast. Since i got the coilovers fitted the car handles so much better. pushed it a bit last night and it just stukc to the road.

Dont like the the lack of low end torque, Glanza Turbo out did me from stand stil at the lights last night( i did catch up easily after a few seconds :shifty: ) Fuel consumption is bad and no leather seats. Apart from that I LOVE IT!

Well Estonia has got the most beautiful wemen in the world ;) Thanks everybody for your advice....quess it's back to lexus to get it fixed :P oh and IRLRs200 it's written "kuidas läheb?" ;) :D and sure you could give me a shout

  16. sorry mate i thought u said you paying lexus to do it coz your to lazy  only jokin , get most expensive coloured wax you can get your hands on then clear wax after , then learn karate :D

:D:D yeah actually i am a lazy person but waxing my car isn't work for me ;) But I am paying Lexus to get the car polished(to remove all those scratches that i've gotten in car parks. I actually caught an Merc owner slamming his door into my front fender :tsktsk:

Oh and one more thing.. I really don't like my 16' wheels, so i've been thinking of getting some 17' inch lexus original wheels. I really like the ones on the Special Edition but is it possible to get them from somewhere? I've been looking around eBay but there are only single wheels. Oh and do they fit my IS even?
