  1. Have anyone fitted 225 size tyres onto the standard IS200 rims , in the hand book it states that the rims are 7JJ. Also in the hand book there is a model listed with with 215 on 7JJ rims on the front and 225 on 7.5JJ rim on the rear ?.I want to replace the Dunlop SP9000 with a full set of new tyres i have seen 225 tyres cheaper than the 215 in the same make.

  2. Hi All,

The search continues as I am still looking for a nice example of an IS200 sport (preferably in Black)

Last week I went to see an IS200 sport a 51 Plate. The backlights were dark shaded (i.e. they were not clear white). However this week I am interested in seeing a 52 plate IS200 sport and have noticed the back lights are clear White?

Am I right in thinking that in 2001 the IS200 was face lifted? MPG Dial sat at the top of the chronograph set of dials and the speakers had silver rings round them. However what about the back lights? I did do a search but could not find anything conclusive. Any experts please clarify the situation of when these backlights changed?

    Many thanks

    Jay

P.s Anyone selling a nice IS200 sport (2001 or above)

My 51 plate Sport is in Green and that has the smoked type rear lights.

  3. Theres a few sets of fake pads going about on Ebay unfortunately.

    Glad its sorted though.

Well they done the job and they were in a Mintex box with the Mintex seal on it, and they come a motor factor that sells alot of parts.I see a number of members get pads from eBay i think i got on to them from this forum. Can you get owners club badges ect.,

  4. I decided to fit a set of groved discs to my IS not that i had a problem with the standard brakes. As the discs are large and you can alot off them it would make the car look nice,I fitted the discs and a new set off rear pads.On this forum i see that Mintex pads have a good name,as i worked in the motor trade for some 25yrs i know that Mintex is a well known brand. So on to good old eBay for some pads, the front pads still had 75% still on them(Lexus pads) so i refitted them. When i drove the car i found that even at slow speed 25mph a hum like noise when brakeing. This got more at speed and at speeds like 80mph it was very bad, i hoped it would go when the pads bedded in but a few hundred miles later still no luck.So i when back on good old eBay again and £31.00 less in the bank and two days later my new Mintex front pads arrived.I fitted them not expecting mutch but when i drove the car the noise had gone,iv now covered afew hundred miles and so far so good.
