  1. Maybe a bit late in adding a reply **BUT**

I have same wheels and they are well admired.Would not change them.

Suggestion unbolt the chrome inserts take to a wheel refurb and

have the chrome painted to match wheels.

Not expensive, less bling and still have nice wheels.

Keep an eye on wheels for corrosion i have had two replaced along with 14 spokes

all under warranty at 20,000 miles.

  2. On speaking to service manager at Lexus today regarding GS450h.Lexus have given the technicians (not mechanics)8 hours paid work under warranty although will take slightly longer.

Cars to be recalled first if it suits customer are the higher mileage vehicles, makes sense.Loan car will be supplied with no insurance premium (£12.50) to be paid.

The engine does not need head removed, valves will be subjected to high air pressure to lift and a special tool will hold valve allowing removal of valve spring, camshafts will be removed.

Surprisingly and alarmingly oil and filter will not need replaced !!!

  3. 29th Jan 2010

Toyota has announced the recall of the Lexus ES 350 & IS 250/350 models to have their accelerator pedals reshaped and/or replaced.

This recall is to be a permanent solution to the risk of unintended acceleration, no matter what floor mat is being used. Starting in early 2010, dealerships will be equipped to reshape the affected pedals by “shaving” a 3/4 inch from the existing pedal, followed by a brand new pedal in April 2010. In the case of the ES 350, the floor surface will also be reshaped.

Both affected Lexus models will be receiving a new brake override system that will cut engine power if both the accelerator and brake pedals are pushed simultaneously.

If you’re affected by this recall, I suggest reading the full press release after the jump.

The models involved are: 2007 to 2010 MY (model year) Camry, 2005 to 2010 MY Avalon, 2004 to 2009 MY Prius, 2005 to 2010 MY Tacoma, 2007 to 2010 MY Tundra, 2007 to 2010 MY ES350, 2006 to 2010 MY IS250, and 2006 to 2010 MY IS 350.

  4. Good afternoon everyone. I am totally confused but then again as I get older it seems to get worse. But, are there two different systems of Mark Levinson audio system fitted to the 450h and if there is how on earth do you tell the difference. I have seen cars advertised with a 10 speaker system and others with a Mark Leveinson audio on different se-l of the same year and month.

I have listened to a number of systems fitted to different 450h's and the sound is always the same....thin with very little base, I have adjusted the base and treble but with little noticeable difference. Sop if anyone can throw oany light on the subject....Thanks a lot

Well my Mark Levinson has plenty base.At half volume i can make the interior mirror vibrate and at full volume can hardly see out of the mirror for violent vibration.

If wife in car this does not happen as volume is left around the 8 mark.

  5. HELP AND ADVICE REQUIRED.

I WANT TO PURCHASE A SET OF 18" WHEELS FOR GS450H TO CHANGE WITH THE ORIGINAL.

LOOKING AT THE NEW 2008 WHEELS.I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE VALVE SENSORS OVER AND TO BUY 4

FROM LEXUS IS OVER £400.IF I FIT NORMAL VALVES HOW CAN I DISABLE THE WARNING LIGHT

WHICH WILL ILLUMINATE TO TELL ME I HAVE A PUNCTURE.

    MANY THANKS.Alan

  6. My GS450h has only covered 6000 miles BUT my Volvo estate 36000 miles with 18" tyres tramlines and if you accelerate hard it will pull you across the road and will follow the white lines.

Easy fixed remove 2mm tread pattern and fit new tyres problem gone.

My motorbike does the same with new tyres its wants to go round the corners on its own and steering is so sharp once rear tyre gets to 3mm or less it wants to follow the white line.

Do your homework before shelling out on tyres. My sons Audi A3 has new Bridgestone Potenzas fitted excellent tyre but in his case he is getting a murmerring from them does not sound good.Audi say a bad batch from Bridgestone but are not going to replace.I have just fitted a cheaper tyre KUMHO to my Volvo as i do not use it a lot and they are very good, nice pattern and directional.Instead of spending £140 a corner i paid £78 a corner plus fitting £6
