Hi,hope this is the right place to ask this - apologies if it needs moving.
Going through my old service history and although my car is at close to 80k - the sparkplugs haven't been replaced (I assume they didn't need replacing at the last service).
I'm about to book the car in for its 80k service - haven't decided yet whether to go with Lexus Oxford (£400) or a non-lexus place.
Just wondered how much I should expect to pay if the spark plugs need changing? Any idea of prices or suggestions on cutting the cost by getting them from ebay/online or getting that side of the job done at a local garage?
The car is an IS250 (2005).
Thanks for any advice/suggestions,
Sid

Hi there Sid, How many miles have you covered I was quoted £290 for front discs and pads from a local performance workshop my IS 250 SEL has just over 30K. Have you yours changed yet and if so what make of disc and pads did the delaer use?
Hi - Just saw it tick over the 70k on the way to the dealership :)
Picking the car up from Lexus Oxford dealer today...so will check/ask then and update here (and write a dealer review).

Hi all,
I need to replace front and rear pads and discs on my is250.
Seem to get quoted around £520 from various lexus dealers (compared to 600+ at kwikfit lol) - but have seen online prices (quite hard to find more than a couple) for around £260 inc vat/delivered. Not sure I want to risk getting cheap/wrong ones - and then find a place to fit them as I have no idea what kind of labour charge is reasonable..
Last quote though from lexus was £420 - which I'll probably go for - as they're doing some recall work and will give a courtesy car for the day.
Just wanted to know if this sounds reasonable.. thanks for any comments or suggestions....
I told them I was a member of LOC but I think the dealership has just changed hands - but they seemed happy to honour the discount (even though the guy at the front desk didnt know if I meant before or after the £420) before he agreed it :)

Noticed the other day that a few cars coming towards me were flashing their lights at me on the way home - it turned out the drivers side headlight/bulb was pointing higher up (few inches) than the other one. The auto levelling looks like it works ok - in that it raises/lowers both lights when I start the car.
Is this something I'd have to go to a dealer for - or attempt myself? I tried a local garage and the guy said he couldnt fix it as soon as he saw the make/model.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

I told Lexus my brake warning light came on, and was told it was ok, as I was booked in for a service. Service was cancelled a couple of times due to the snow in Dec/Jan by the dealer. Told them brakes were getting worse, finally had to get it towed from house to garage - and they told me the leak caused the damage and ~I had to pay as it was 'one of those things'.
(Is250 2005 - I assume they won't send me a recall notice, as the cylinder was replaced. I'll be speaking to them about a refund though.
Lexus is not what it used to be :(
