  1.

"just to clarify that there has only been one recall specific to the 220d,all others involve the 250 as well.there have been some postings that the 220 has been subject to many recalls but they are total fabrication.as regards ecu updates,it is normal for these to happen to all models and nothing to worry about.ask your dealer if you think that the car is missing some upgrade because they will be happy to do it."

    Not strictly correct 'dgman'!

True however ref upgrade to ECU...that's just somethin that would need doing like any software related item you own, dealers provide the updates for you and will happily do it.

4 SPECIFIC RECALLS FOR MY is220:

I have to say my is220 has had 4 specific recalls from Lexus... 5th injector, mats(slipping accross accelerator), Steering and rear caliper. All officially recalled via letter from Lexus.

Worst thing is...Lexus Oxford issued me a quote of £395 to rectify the rear caliper problem found whilst being serviced...Lexus Chester issued 'Recall' for same problem.

    :)

One other issue that is under investigation and 3 independent reports indicate it's originated from Lexus and not 'other' however for obvious reasons can't be specific until final word from Lexus UK. All I will say is it is not a safety issue and to be fair give them the chance to have their say or to rectify.

Whilst I love the Lexus cars...I have recently lost faith in one or two of their dealerships. I will update on this as and when.

  2. Hi all Diesel owners,

My Diesel is doing an average MPG of 31.6 Lexus as i'm sure you are aware claim their cars do 44.8 average MPG.

I am now in a dispute with Lexus and i am asking for my money back, It would really help my case if all you Diesel owners could post a reply to this topic telling me what your average MPG is, so i can tell them that its all Diesels that are doing it and not just mine cause they keep telling me that it will get better with age but they wont say what it will get better to.

    Thanks

ps i will let you all know how it goes and who knows maybe you can get some sort of compensation from your dealers??

Mine went in to Lexus Chester with drastic fuel returns...32mpg on motorway and best was 39mpg over the month...

When it was returned the next day they said everything was fine with the car and no faults found...driving home got 46-49mpg and continue to do so!!!

    From 410miles a tank to 550miles a tank...Also 6th feels better and now at 65mph change rather than 75-80mph.

Changed Injectors or flashed and re mapped ecu...who knows???! But definitely did something to it!

    HAPPY

  3. well mine packed up today. (07 sport)

parts due to arrive on 20th june. was told that the part os being revised (yeah right).

there are 7 others at the dealers with the same problem.

just out of interest - what replacement car have people received of lexus whilst theirs are off the road.

Lexus Chester gave me an is250se with tiptronic & multimedia while my is220se mm was in for checks overnight.

Lexus Derby however where I bought the car have a totally different customer care/service...

It's probably the best I've been to without a doubt and I have visited half a dozen in the UK.

Chester is now my local dealer by 100miles compared, otherwise Derby would be my choice to visit.
