  1. As they say third time lucky and all that

Had to sell my mustang as my circumstances have changed and I will be having to cart two dogs upto the lakes every weekend

So the short list of cars suitable for the job (and suitable for my tastes) was the RX range :D

Decided on an 05 SE-L in dark blue

So that means I am back again.

    Lexus number 3!

Do I get a prize for owning most of the lexus range? Just need an SC and a GS to complete the set (I am avoiding the IS-F as its just an IS :D )

  2. get a disc from here:

    http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/

To eject the disk you need the ignition on and then open the flap or move the slider across on the front of the Nav unit and it will eject the disk.

The only way to get the current speed is to enter a diagnostic mode which will disable all other features, including the Sat Nav, stereo etc. and the only way to exit the diagnostics is to turn off the ignition so it's not really advisible to use when driving.

    Thanks Colin

    contacting that company

the speed part is a bit pants :(

not to worry got plenty of other toys to play with in the car anyways

  3. I wish we got lexus taxi's over here all i get is skodas

There's an LS400 Taxi here in Bristol somewhere.

Taxifast in Plymouth used to have a Jaguar XJ8 on their fleet. The woman on the phone used to reckon he had nearly as much work as the rest of the company put together, as everyone who rang up always asked for it!

I wonder if the guy who had it worked out whether the increased popularity compensated for the extra fuel it used?

    Mike

Theres a black IS200 taxi in Leeds

Tried to get it a few times but only get Avensis's from same co.

There was a member of LOC who was a minicab driver who had a green (if I remember rightly) IS200 met him at a manchester meet a couple of years back, I think he eventually got rid of it though :(

  4. that's hilarious..ur getting a 55k motor for peanuts...i like it..

wow, u gotta bring the LS to a meet so we can admire it from up close..

is this a pre facelift LS? i.e. pre 2004?

    Hiya

its a 2001 Y Reg with all the extras, I dont know the models in the LS but its a beautiful car in gold with gold badges and cream interior.

Just had all the sensors in the engine done so its in mint condition

  5. Hey guys been on a hiatus cause I got an Alfa 156 and a Celica, formerly owned an IS200 SE

but the Lure of the L has drawn me back

So I am purchasing my CEO's LS430 for a lower price than I can get a decent IS for

Its been a while but Hi Hi and did I miss anything in the last 2 years :D

Gonna run this for a couple of years then get me a 220D

  6. Well guys after much deliberation I have decided to move on from the Lexus to a Toyota Celica (190BHP :driving: )

I am kinda sad to see the IS go but she has covered 127K miles and I think its time to let her go while she is still in her glory!

Thanks to the club she looks and sounds great and has been a passion for me. Just the local chavs have taken a liking to keying the bonnet and after a 3rd respray she was done again a few weeks ago. When I catch the little scrotes you so know they are metting my german shepherd and baseball bat

anyways I love the IS and hopefully Mat will allow me to bob around here now and again.

As for the IS her high mileage made me let her go for a terrible price :( Some people just dont appreciate the beauty of the IS 200 !!

Thanks to everyone here who's advice and help has made me feel part of something, and the meets were good fun too (except that really political one I got dragged into hehe)

I do hope to come back into the Lexus fold when I can manage to pickup a year or so old new model in a couple of years, in the meantime I can play with the celica and boast how I used to own one of the best cars on the road!!

    Take care guys

    Duncan

Edit: Oh and I will be wandering accross to the TOC for the next few years if ya need me!! :P

  7. Considering trading the IS in for a new Celica (190bhp one) but still trying to talk myself out of it  :crybaby:

What are the good / bad points?

I know I will loose the toys of the IS but I dont really need a proper 4 door saloon now the nipper is growing up.

    What you think guys?

Thats really strange, I was just pondering exactly the same thing this weekend...

lol maybe its the impending summer or something I dunno!

Height isnt a problem for me

The interior doesnt bother me too much but I think I may miss the toys of the IS...

do they do a Celica with a sunroof or is that asking too much?

Going to go down to Toyota at lunch and book a test drive I think though.
