  1. Does anyone have a full set for sale (All 4 wheels) or know of a cheap source to get them? Would there be any problems using salvaged ones from a breakers yard? Also is the kit the same for the S model as the SE and sport models? Cheers.

  2. I have the climair ones, front and back, highly recommended, just google them. They came with some small blue writing in each corner but this was easily removed for a more OEM look. I used medical adhesive removal wipes to remove them. They look well and are tinted nicely too.

  3. For LOC Gold members our fee is capped at £85+ vat, also for Gold members around the uk we will help you find centres and offer our correct calibration positions that stop the dreaded front tyre wear.

Can you advise of any centre in Ireland (North or South) that you would trust to carry out your geo settings. I tried one place before and wasn't happy with the results. They didn't get close enough to your settings and tyre wear still persisted.

  4. I used to have a T-Mobile Vario II and now have a HTC Touch Diamond. I quite like the Windows Mobile interface and I'm really pleased with the TOuch Diamond so far. Clear screen, very thin and light phone.

I have the touch diamond too, and think it's a great phone once flashed with a third part ROM. Only problem I have is that sometimes it accidently answers or rejects incoming calls when in my pocket, because the touch screen activates when a call comes in. Anyone else have this problem???

  5. does this help

I have done this. I assume the blue wire is your switched live. But now I have another problem that wasn't there before I spliced as shown. Now my head unit will not switch off automatically when I turn the key to off. It used to before. The radio reception is better, which is a plus, but it is annoying to have to turn the head unit off manually each time. Any one have any suggestions, have I missed something???

  6. I'm starting to think it's probably a better idea to just save up for a good set of 35mm lowering springs, seen some for about £175. I heard that 35mm was ok with standard dampers, sound right to you guys??? Would changing to 18" rims offset the speedo calibration at all?

  7. Cheers for the swift replies lads :D I was thinking of this mod because it could be much cheaper than most lowering springs and dampers. However the standard sport springs may not lower the car by as much as those. 25mm max??? Is it worth it? What do you's think, bearing in mind that the S model has smaller wheels than the sport. Would 25mm be noticable? I will eventually be getting new rims in the future but on the long finger for now. One job at a time :whistling:

  8. A major factor in deciding what to go for is whether it is for home or bussiness use. I cant comment on bussiness use, but if you want a NAS (network attached storage) device for home use, then QNAP do some seriously powerful bits of kit. I bought a QNAP TS-109 Pro and then bought a 1TB disk separately and fitted myself. Very easy to do, and network setup is easy for anyone with just a little home networking experience. The main reason I went with QNAP was that it was DLNA compatible, which means it can also be used as a media server for stuff like the PS3. It has many features like web server, FTP host, itunes server, bittorrent download station(even without a PC turned on), backup server, remote access over the internet. Highly recommended.

PS: I DONT work as an agent for QNAP, I am just well impressed with what I got from them :D

  9. I recently got an Audiovox power supply from an old handsfree kit. I hope to use it as a 5V supply for a satnav and also for a mini hard drive. Problem is I can't get it fitted properly. There are 3 input cables - a positive, a negative (both with inline 2A fuses) and a thinner wire which I have no idea about???? There are 4 output wires which should be ground, 5V, 9V, 13.7V (the car Battery voltage). I don't know which colour corresponds to what voltage as I can't get it up and running. Every time I connect the thing to the car, I blow the inline fuses on the input cables. Has anyone any ideas how to fit this power supply????? Anyone who has fitted a handsfree kit themself may be able to help. Thanks.

  10. Think you need to expand to Ireland Tony. I know many people over here who would like to see someone dedicated to proper geometry etc set up locally. There really is no one here who has the knowledge or enthusiasm to set a car up for a particular use.

Off topic.... I still have not got near my own car as it is getting stripped again to sort some other issues but I will get back to you when I do. Gav.

Hear hear. Have you had any dealings with Charles Hurst Tyres in Belfast??? With his crowd also having a Lexus dealership I was thinking of trying them. Or is there any specialists in Belfast at all???

:offtopic: Any meets in Ireland at all? :offtopic:

  11. I haven't had any offs since I got the car January, not sure about previous owner. I'm really in the dark now as to what to do next. Do you have any contacts in Ireland that you would recomend to sort this out? Should I have the lower wishbone checked out? and what should I do if it is bent? Sorry for the barrage of questions.

Have it looked at first..... In particular the condition of the cast at the neck of the OSF wishbone. If it is bent normally the rust fails off at that point.

    Does the car pull?

Doesn't pull, not that I notice anyway. Will have the wishbone checked. If bent can it be replaced with a salvaged part and does anyone know a ballpark figure for a price? Sorry to sound miserly but have a limited budget enforced by the significant other

  12. Thanks for the replies so far guys.

I did have single tracks on it as I only put a few on to test it. Will try using a folder hierarchy. Also I heard about there being size limits too, so I will try different sized partitions to see if any of the setups work. As for instructions they say Fat32 USB "key" but hey, you never know, it might work. Watch this space???? We'll see what happens.
