  1. Hi all, my drivers side, rear door decided not to close (kept bouncing open) after my husband was polishing the car. He had the Smart key in his pocket at the time and he thought that maybe the car had become confused with all the opening/touching of the button and closing etc. He disconnected the Battery & we have done all the usual open/close, pushing, turning off the Smart button etc. The Lexus dealer think it is the actuator, which is ridiculous money at £517 plus labour and I know you can buy a motor on eBay for around £5. I am not certain this is the problem now though, as I have been messing about with the lock/catch & now the door closes normally, but it is just the soft close function that is not working on just this door. Could an actuator cause this problem or is there anything else I could try without removing the door panel. I can't see any posts on this malfunction, so any feedback would be helpful.. Many thanks.

  2. Hi all, I just wondered if anyone has had this problem, as I can't seem to find anyone on the internet that has. A few days ago the wireless buttons stopped working on my 2000 LS430 (the Smart key). Luckily the Smart functions work fine, which I thought a bit odd. I have just tried the spare key & the buttons work fine. The Smart key has been dropped on many occasions and I think that perhaps it is damaged in some way, but I have seen other posts for older cars that suggest reprogaming it, and wondered if this is the answer. I also wondered if the kids could have done something wierd to it and messed it up. Any advise would be much appreciated. I have already replaced the battery and the light does flash quickly when the buttons are pressed. I have also held down the lock & unlock button separately for 30 seconds, which was suggested in another post. Kind Regards Tina

Hi All just thought that I would update this post. The key just started working all by itself, which has been the case with a few problems we have had with this car, like the door mirror & a faulty engine sensor. The drivers side rear door is now playing up & will not close!

  5. Hi, I have a 2000 LS430 and think that the Sat Nav is the original disc and would like the updated 2007 version. I have phoned Lexus and it will cost £140, but they were reluctant to give me the manufacturer, or version and part no. as they obviously did not want me to try and obtain one from elsewhere, if this is possible. Does anyone have the new addition and if so could you advise this info. I don't have the instructions for our Sat Nav, so can't even look at manual and haven't taken our disc out as yet.

    Many thanks.

  6. Hi everyone, can anyone tell me where the Sat Nav DVD is located? We have only just bought our 2000 LS430 and love it. The dealer advised us that the disc was in the boot, but we have looked tonight and only found a filter, sorry to sound so stupid, but we don't have the Sat Nav Manual and the User Manual does not advise about the Lexus Sat Nav. I want to see what version of the Sat Nav we have, and maybe upgrade if anyone can tell me where I could buy this. Lexus in Swindon want £147 is this the price or can it be purchased cheaper.

    Many thanks all Tina.

Thank you Pete that is great, a job for my husband in the morning then. I did actually find this website so will key in the part no. tomorrow. Do you know if the new disc advises on safety cameras or is this not available on this Sat Nav system. Again many thanks

    Kind Regards Tina
