  1. mine will be 3 years old next March, I always change every time the warranty expires (3 yrs), it only has 11k on it and I expect it to have no more than another 3k by next March.

I know I'll get hammered by the Lexus crew when it's time to change. I may well take out an extra warranty and keep it, anyone know how much it is to extend it and does the extension cover the same items as the original?

    thanks

    Steve

The cost will vary but I think Lexus will be the most expensive - I would try Warranty Direct and negotiate down from their first quote. I got 12 months interest free installments and £50 off just by ringing then after taking an online quote.

  2. I AM A NEW MEMBER TO THIS FORUM,I AM HOPING SOMEBODY FROM LEXUS CUSTOMER RELATIONS IS READING THIS POST, I AM REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE RX400H, BUT,THIS BUSINESS WITH THE SMALL STARTER BATTERY IS PATHETIC,IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED , I WILL NOT BUY THIS VEHICLE TILL THE PROBLEM IS SORTED,LEXUS SEEM TO BE HOPING THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY, HOW CAN A COMPANY THAT COMES FIRST FOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS TREAT THEM SO BADLY

As others have already remarked, while clearly some owners appear to have had this problem, others like myself have been completely unaffected. My RX400H SE is 3 years old, 40k miles and I have left it parked outdoors in winter at airports (covered in snow and freezing conditions - normally for a week) and returned to a serviceable vehicle and left it for 3 weeks in summer at an airport - again with no problems. I'm not saying there is not a problem but I would remark that it doesn't seem to affect every vehicle. MN

  3. Absolutely agree with dncm 1. My Rx400h - SE has just had its 40k service and first MOT - all good and returning similar mpg to previous post. Never had any Battery problems - even after 3 weeks parked.

Dealer is just sorting a minor paintwork issue on leading edge of bonnet - very minor surface rust in one area of stone chip; dealt with under warranty.

Also agree that tyre pressures are critical to getting best mpg (common sense really I suppose  !).
