  1. ...By the way, Texis, can you post a piccy of that  B)  interior....

Thanks for all the welcomes... I am working on getting a picture of the interior....

    Tex,

That interior is seriously cool B) and as dangerous :nuke: as I expected.

Cool caws it looks awesome B) , dangerous caws I've got kids..........

Chocolate Ice cream and tan leather..... Oh NO!

Haha! Yeah, I have kids too. They are not alllowed to speak or to have any food or drink in this car. EVER! They are not allowed to touch anything! They are required to sit still with their hands in their laps and their feet are to touch the plastic mats only.

This has worked for a month now with very little protest. I don't expect it to last for ever but I am going to milk it for all it's worth. ;)

Thanks for the compliments on the interior. I thought about all the things that could go wrong with a light color but my only other option was black and it gets over 100 degrees here in the summer. So far, no marks on the upholstery. She has a whopping 996 miles on her so far. :D

  2. This car is being discussed on the IS300.net forum as well. It seems that the owner doesn't know that his car is being sold on eBay. It is a SCAM. Someone has taken the photographs from the owners website and is pretending to sell it to get cash. Look at the terms of the sale.

    Terms of Sale:

Car is sold as is. Buyer must send a non- refundable deposit of $3000, has 10 days to complete transaction.

A $3000 non-refunable deposit is rediculous and is not normal.

The TRUE owner of this car is trying to get eBay to stop the auction.

I've seen this happen 3 times so far but I'm sure it happens even more often than that.

    Carpe Diem!

  3. typical US got to have bigger hailstones than us :D :D :lol:

sounds like we wouldnt want them though! :(

Of course EVERYTHING is bigger in TEXAS. Including but not limited to, hail, tornados, hurricanes, number of idiots per area code and the list goes on.

As for the interior, it's half leather, half sueded leather. Full leather is/was available but I have never seen one in person. The SportX is pretty hard to get here and if you want a special configuration, well, you probably won't ever get it.

Mine is the Leather-Escaine Sport package that includes the interior, moonroof, 6 cd in dash changer, subwoofer, cargo net, luggage compartment mat, e-shift 5 spd auto trans, rear storage shade, rear spoiler and locking wheel nuts.

I also got the limited slip differential.

It will be interesting to see how the suede parts of the seats hold up over time.

  4. We have 4 vehicles in the family and they all have names.

    03 SportX = Donna

    95 SVT Lightning = Dana

    95 Infiniti G20t = Gertrude

72 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible = Mr. Cad

what's the reasoning behind the names? None whatsoever.

  5. nice car

those mats look interesting are they plastic ?

    are they lexus ones ?

Wow, you've got a good eye there. No, the clear plastic mats are not Lexus ones. The carpeted Lexus ones are underneath. It's been raining here a lot and I want my carpeted ones to stay clean so I got these cheapo mats to protect the Lexus mats when the weather is bad. The Lexus logo on the factory mats shows through the clear plastic. It may look odd but it serves a purpose.

Today we had a wicked hail storm. Is there hail in the UK? Anyway, the SportX was in the garage but my Infinti was not and it suffered quite a bit of body damage and the windshield is broken as well. A person from my Insurance company will be looking at it soon. :(

The SportX is nice and polished in the Garage. :D

  6. only cooool peeps have white

Yep, white is the coolest. ;)

You are all very lucky to have the choices you do. Altezza, 200, 300, etc... Rarely will I see an imported "used" Japanese car. It's extremely costly to bring one over and a lot of modification has to be done to the car to meet federal safety and emmisions standards. If it was easy I would have a Skyline R34 in my garage.

Anyway, you are lucky in the UK. B)

  7. So yours is a 200 SportCross?  We don't have the 200 here.  What's the difference?

A tiny 2 litre engine vs 3 litre!

2 litre? Is that a 4 cyl or a 6 cyl? If it gets good gas mileage I am surprised we don't have them here. Over here, anything bigger than a VW Beetle gets less than 25 mpg.

So far the best I've gotten from my SportX is 23 mpg all highway.

I guess you get a lot of vehicles that aren't for sale here because of differences in government rules on what's legal and what's not.

  8. Hey Texi, you're in Texas, can't you just shoot them over there if they break into your house :yahoo:

As a matter of fact I CAN SHOOT'em. They don't have to be in my house either, or even on my property. Concealed handguns are LEGAL here with a permit.

I don't make a habit of packing heat to the grocery store though and I'd prefer not to have to shoot somebody. Pepper spray is likely to blow back in the face of the user and bullets tend to hit the wrong persons, like an innocent bystander or family member.

I'm telling you, this whistle is insanely loud and nobody expects that. It's not like a car alarm that people hear daily and will ignore, people WILL turn and look if you blow this whistle.

Aren't handguns totally banned for civilian use in the UK? I thought even regular policeman didn't carry guns. Only tactical officers.

This is the Whistle I have exept in Orange:

    FOX Safety Whistle

  9. I don't know what size it is but it is pretty small. It's better than not having a sub but it's nothing to get real excited about. It will barely vibrate the mirrors.

It's behind the trim in the right rear quarter of the luggage compartment. For less money you could probably have something custom made that will sound a lot better.

    Gary

  10. That's a pretty scary thought to have strangers forcibly enter your home. I'm glad to hear nobody got hurt.

I keep one of those yellow FOX safety whistles (like a coaches whistle) on my keychain. This is EXTREMELY loud. It makes women scream and children cry. It makes my ears ring and I'm the one blowing it. If somebody tries to take your keys just blow as hard as you are able on this whistle and they will likely be running away as fast as they can with wet britches. ;)

  11. sorry if i bein stupid but you're in the US right?

Car looks fantastic, especially with no license plate on the front, wish we could do that :(

Yes, I am in the US. I know this is a UK forum but I didn't think that mattered. Does it?

I wish I could keep the front plate off but in about 10 days when the real plates show up, she will have a plate on the front and back like everyone else. It's a shame but it's the law here and the local police really crack down on it.

Abra Cadabra... Make the Sun Come Out! :hocus-pokus:

  12. Done Deal! I took delivery this morning and it was a great experience. Met my service advisor, the loaner car person and my mechanic.

Due to past car purchases I was totally prepared to hear, "it's not ready" or, "there was a slight problem with..." or something of that nature and then spend the day at the dealership.

I was TOTALLY WRONG. My salesperson had it tinted, shined and ready to roll when I pulled up and I was 15 minutes early. :)

It is cloudy here today so I took my digital camera with me to be sure I could get a picture before she got dirty. Good thing too because it started raining halfway home. Oh well, a few rain drops won't ruin MY day.

Anyway, here is her very first pic, on the delivery driveway at my dealer.

    SportXdelivery040303.jpg

Since it's a bit of a drive to the dealer, she now has 62 miles on her odometer.

    Feels like Christmas! :hohoho:
