  1. hi guy's could i get a little help with this problem.

found a nice set of used wheels with tyres

    fronts are 17x8JJ/30 235 40 17

    Back are 17x9jj/35 255 40 17

    i beleive oem 17" wheels are something like f 45 and r 50 offset

ive got an is250, any issues with these, will i need spacers if so what size and wheres the best place to get a good set from, also wheels come with tyres but are 40 profile not 45 as on oem does this matter as its only slighter smaller.

i need reply asap please as i have to let the guy selling know soon to arrange collection

    thank you

    shu

  2. no lower is something like £13 i found this out because i tried to sell mine when i changed to chrome ones but couldn't sell because i thought they were worth much more. not sure how much they charge for labour but i did mime by myself to about 3 hours 30 mins to take off the bumper and install and about 2 1/2 to put the bumper back on. was bit of a pain to get gaps correct i reckon was worth it.

  3. best to take to dealers be much easier but if you still want to try, drivers side should be simple theres plenty of room to move about. however the passenger side is tight on space. you first need to undo the bolt holding the washer fluid filler nozzle in place. that will allow you to move it around giving you a bit more room, but its still going to be tight. took me 1 hr to just to put the covers back on. the other way is much more compicated and involves taking off the front bumper and removing the headlight units.

  4. this should be normal, i cannot confirm as none of my bulbs are stock, but the more yellow the light the lower the kelvin rating and thus the more light that is produced. safety is more important than looks, since its the high beams you want more light hence you use them. as for the dimming issue not too sure all i know is that with the afs system it not only adjusts the beam left right up down but also the brightness of the lights atumatically depending on how much light the is outside.

also about the Xenon high beams. i think what it means is that it also uses the Xenon dipped as high beams. cant remember where i read this but the is has 4 high beams, ive been meaning to check this by unplugging the main high beams and seeing if the xenons adjust their beams, its late now so will try this tommorrow night and let you know whether this is true.

  5. just filled up to the brim again, and am really confused. odo is showing 380miles range. before filling up had 14 miles of fuel left and mpg was at 36.4. was expecting to see 400 or more miles. also was expecting better mpg values on my last run since i always use tesco premium fuel at 99 octance. to be honest these figures mean nothing to me as i know that come the end of the week i need to put in £50/£60 fuel in no matter what mpg/range im getting.

  6. hey took the car to gatwick airport on thursday. filled the tank to the brim and on board computer showed range 342miles. flicked the switch to snow mode and set off from bridgend s.wales. ist stop at cardiff got caught in rush hour 5 oclock traffic. got onto m4 at 5.30 and somehow ending up at heathrow airport at 8. (in my defense no one told me which airport to go to) ok so make quick exit from car park and made mt way to gatwick. picked up my package and them made my way back to cardiff and then back home. so to the point. total miles driven was approx 380miles with 70 miles left according to on board comp. giving total of 450miles at 38.2mpg. ave speed 50. kept max speed below 80mph all the way. im actually impressed at its range but still think it should have been able to do a bit better on fuel. 38.2 is not really that good especially on such a long trip at mostly a constant speed. but still good enough. will check now when i fill up next what it gives as estimated tank miles. will keep you guys updated.

  7. can i just check, when you say you get upto 400 miles from a tank, do you mean that this is the figure that is showing on the estimated tank miles. i think ive got a very heavy right foot, at the mo my average mpg is 20.8. max mpg ive seen is 32 even then after filling to the brim i only get 340. maybe i just need to gt it serviced. last one was at 52000, currently at 70000.

  8. this has been on my mind since i bought my IS. as far as know the IS250 tank 65litres, however, when i fill up the tank with about 30 miles left (according to the trip) the tank fills up with only 55-57 litres. so it hides 10litres somewhere. my theory is that the IS keeps the other 10 as emergency to make sure you always keep the tank filled and not let it run dry.

to b honest in a way it better for me since instead of filling every week with £65 i only need £55. :D

just to check can every one who is reading this topic please check the next time they fill up how many litres you get in to fill up tank. also please note how many miles you have left acc. to trip. thank you.
