  1. Amazing!

I just had my cambelt done at 101,000 miles as I had no service history when I bought the car and didnt know if it had been done.

The belt they removed was as new, no wear at all was aparent but the tensioner did have signs of heat damage/marking on it. It makes me think mine must have been done @ 60k or 6 years as my car is a 1999.

How the rest of that belt didn't get chewed up is pure luck surely?

  2. I got the one from Asda for £150... only had to wait about an hour at customer services for them to bring it from the "warehouse".

I would love to install Windows on it.... always wanted to try Linux but it isn't as user friendly as windows at all.

How much would I be looking at to get XP and do the usb thingymabob? Bearing in min my only interweb connection is through a Vodafone wireless broadband connection.

    Cheers guys.

  3. As a lettings agent and private tenant myself it is pretty clear cut.

If the property was advertised as part furnished of fully furnished then the landlord is responsible for the repair as long as the fault wasn't down to the tenant.

As mentioned previously if the machine was left there as a convenience to the tenant then it is not the LLs responsibility to repair although we always state this when a tenancy is arranged.

May be worth digging through your paperwork to see what the state of play was when you took out the tenancy.

I'll take this oppertunity to apologise for my more un-scrupulous colleagues that give the rest of the industry a bad name. :)
