I was under the impression that the Altezza was a rear wheel drive car but after spinning the wheels a little pulling away on some gravel I'm a little confused. It was the front wheels that slipped a bit as I was reversing at the time. Have I got it completely wrong here?

Aaahhh, my old pride and joy. Are you following me around mate? Not happy with the 2 now? ;-)
What have you done do get it from 270bhp to 300+ - don't forget that the MR2 can only handle 300bhp on stock internals.
Wasn't sure about the wheels at first but they look good, still prefer the Advans though :-)

and it attend most large shows
how you finding the tezza?
Understand you wanted to change the wheels mate, just hope you got a good price for them as they weren't cheap ;-)
Tezzas are good cars, happy with mine. I went for an auto/tiptronic RS200 so the auto box is going to hold back any performance mods but I am hoping to do some handling mods soon and change the wheels.
Glad to see you're taking good care of the 2 :-)

no mate not a tubby but with some nice engine mods it was rolling roaded at daztec @203.1 bhp was going to slip the camry v6(very easy conversion) in to it but she blew up sold her to a young boy who is half way through the v6 conversion.was on a few show stands due to the stereo stuff i fitted and its clean look.
boy i loved that car
ooooh ok fair enough,
so what performance/engine you running in the altezza?
i want to try and gauge performance against my mr2
(i know it wont be anywhere near as quick but ive been looking into a poss blitz supercharger so on and so forth)

Thor Racing could do it I'd have thought, don't honestly know who'd do these near you though - have you looked to see if there are any import specialists in your local Yellow Pages?
They're Coventry way
Didn't realise Thor could do this. Used to take the MR2 to to Rogue occasionally they're in the same estate. Did try to book the car in Thor for a session on the dynomometer, they weren't the most friendly or helpful people.
I was hoping that there are some members on here from South Wales/West of England who would know of anyone otherwise I'll just get in touch with the dealer I bought the car off.

Is the reading on the odo now going up in miles or is it still going up in KM then?
Still going up in KM, is wasn't converted. I bought the car from a dealer who'd imported it for himself, he changed the speedo but couldn't find anyone who could change the odo. He found someone eventually but by that time he'd decided to sell. I could ask him if he could put me in touch with the person he was going to use but it would be a bit far for me probably. Kicking myself that I didn't ask him to get it done before picking the car up.
If I could find somewhere closer that would be ideal.

Hi all, :)
I recently bought an Altezza, recent import. The speedo has been converted to mph but the odometer is still reading in Kilometres. Does anyone know of a garage that can convert it to miles, the closer to south Wales the better. :D

Hi matey welcome to LOC.....2 really nice looking cars ... :)
Thanks mate, nice wheels you have there (in your avatar).

Have you tried unplugging the sat nav in the boot matey? the main drive is on the right hand side under the carpet if its in the same place as my is200 navi? :)
Should be in the same place...I'm guessing it would be a straight swap for an IS200 navi?

Welcome to the club matey :D Looks like a nice tezza you have there and nice Mr2 you had aswell by the look of it :D
Yeah she was a good 'un. Sorry to see her go but I needed something a bit more practical, won't miss the occassional roof leak though ;)
Liking the tezza a lot so far :D

Thanks Stav :)

Forgot to mention that I'm looking for someone to change the mileage from Kilometres to Miles. Does anyone know of a place that can do this - South Wales area ideally.

Hi there, I'm David and I'm 36 years old. New to Altezzas but not new to imports having owned two MR2 turbos for several years.
This is the new car, picked it up last week, some pics that the dealer took haven't had a chance to take my own yet...
...it's an RS200 auto. A couple of things I need to sort out at the moment are removing the company graphics of the sideskirts, get a decent alarm fitted, replace the stock CD player (Err3 strikes again!) and somehow switch the damn satnav off
Future plans revolve around sharpening up the handling a bit. The car's on lowering springs at the moment but would like to put a set of Tein Super Streets and EDFC on and a set of anti-roll bars - used to have TRD ones on the MR2.
Then change the wheels and exhaust (HKS Silent I was thinking). Depends on finances though.
A couple of pics of the old motor before I sold her
Anyway, just thought I say hello :D
Confused?

I'll check again when I get the chance this weekend. When I picked the car up from the importer I mentioned that Tezzas were rear wheel drive but he seemed sure that this was front wheel drive. Since then, the more I have driven it the less sure I am. I owned an MR2 turbo which is RWD, before the Altezza and the power delivery is different.
