  1. So I watched some of that Youtube video: nice Toyota interior and the stereo appears impressive. I'm guessing very interesting commentary too.

However, as I'm not familiar with Arabic, is there any other source of information (for the English)?

    Hi

I couldn't find any info in English (I understand Arabic so I'm ok). I came across it in the Lexus LS forum in Arabic.

The guy who sells it speaks good English. He has installation videos of the kit on his YouTube channel.

I got a text from DPD and I'll be getting it tomorrow in the post.

  2. Hi all.

Hope it hasn't been discussed before.

I've ordered a very cool device from the United Arab Emirates that let's you have USB AUX Bluetooth streaming and SD card capability in your LS430 for £120 all in.

I think that's great value and probably cheaper than the Vaistech that's available from the US.

And it's just plug and play. No need to cut any wiring

The company is called FOX AUTO TECHNOLOGY.

Type in FOX AUTO TECHNOLOGY in YouTube

Will update as soon as I've received it.

  3. Hi all, I've got a rather annoying recent issue with my 2001 LS430, the driver's side rear door won't open on my car. Either from the inside or outside, now as this problem was intermittent I managed to get the door card off whilst the door opened last week. Now it doesn't want to open at all and it makes a groaning noise when it's goes to unlock the door. I've seen the actuator lock thread on the clublexus website but from what I could tell that was replacing the actuator with the door open. I need help in actually getting the door to open, is their a way of doing this now I have the door card off?

any help appreciated as I want to get this sorted.

    Thanks

    Hi

Did you manage to get your door open?

    I'm facing the same problem.

    Thanks

  4. this is not that one , it is green . If your still driving it buy the salvage from them and get it repaired - had the wheels been refurbed before you bought it ? when I traded it , it needed the wheels refurbing , one of the rear bearings was just starting to make a noise and it needed a 250,000 service - Man I loved that car - would have kept it if it was feesable - but the 600hl is just as awesome

Yes it is green. It is probably the one that you had. The alloys are in need of refurbishment and yes I have replaced the rear bearing and serviced it when I got it.

I spent nearly £800 on it in the first week to fully get up to scratch.

Did you get it serviced at Japex? If so would it be possible for you to get hold of the service history print outs for me? It will help me greatly if it goes through the write off route..

  5. that was my ls430 i part ex'd at lexus nottingham , ( I owned it seven years , 2nd owner ) that is such a shame you had the bump , as you could tell it was well looked after , the only reason I changed was because it was 10year old. Despite the age and mileage , if they gave you all the service history etc , use that with the insurers when they give you a value as that car wanted for nothing and was serviced every 5 months etc etc , hope you get a good outcome ( gutted for you )

Yes indeed well looked after. I'm still using it now cz it's still solid but a tad unsightly due to the headlight.

May end up buying it back because it's been looked after so well.

is this the gold one where you wrote in the ad " please no silly offers as I can break it for more" or words to that effect?

    It's a green/grey colour. A very gentleman colour I would say

  7. I'll keep you posted on developments. But I seriously have a feeling it'll be written off. I just hope my payout is decent if it comes to that.

Any ideas on what a 2004 (53 plate) Ls430 is actually worth? Full meticulous history. 1 owner. 248k miles. Beautiful green/gray color. Grey leathers. I would give it 8/10 condition rating for interior and exterior condition...?

  8. They will write it off for definite, the rear suspension will cost you £300 but you will need to change both rear sensors, but your will be a write no doubt about that. Sorry, did you buy the car from a friend of mine called Steven in Derbyshire sides?

    Hi

Yes I did. His name was Steven. A very nice guy to deal with.

So sad my carpet ride was so short-lived.

The assessor came today to inspect the vehicle. He took pictures and notes. See what happens.

  9. Hello everyone

I recently purchased a high milage LS430 (249k miles) for £3k.(might have been a little too much to pay.. May be .?)

Anyways it has full history etc etc and is in good condition.

A few days ago I was unfortunately involved in an accident. Not so serious. The damage is to the front passenger headlight, wing, and bumper and may be 1 or 2 sensors.

After the accident I have noticed that my brake lights stay on. when I lock the car, then after a minute they turn back on again. What do you think is the problem?

In addition, I have noticed that the rear passenger suspension might be malfunctioning. The distance between the tyre and the body is smaller in comparison to the other sides. Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Do you think it's all related to the accident that I had?

The insurance company will be sending an assessor to check out the car on Monday. Do you think I should mention these problems to him/her?

So the current problems I am facing are:

    1) brake lights stay on

    2) passenger side rear suspension is malfunctioning (this is the side that also sustained damage in the accident)

    Many thanks

  10. At the moment it can't be converted due to the direct injection system, Lpg kits will be developed when the manufacturers release the timing settings. Keep an eye out on AC stags website for when a kit has been developed for this model.

    Thanks ManicMark.

I had thought that LPG technology has advanced to its peak but now i'm rather disappointed. It's a good thing I don't need to drive much but hopefully the guys at Stags can cook something for us direct injection system geezers

  11. Hi,

I've noticed a tank in front of my radiator that is filled with blue liquid. I had thought that it may be the tank for the screen wash however, i've been using the screen wash many times but the liquid still remains

I also do not have head light washers on my car. (check out the pictures) It's the tank with the black lid. (ignore the blue top bottle - that's for the LPG system)

    thanks

  12. Hi,

I find it strange that my local dealer refuses to work on my car.

    I have a LS400 which was imported from Japan. (It's a 1999 Toyota Celsior)

I phoned my local Lexus dealer to ask for a quote on a cam belt change. As soon as they learnt that it is an import they refused to give me a quote. They say that they do not work on imported vehicles.

Do you think Toyota might carry out the work? Has anybody faced this problem?

Does anyone know any reputable garage that can look after my Lexus.

    Many thanks

  13. Hi,

I have an LS400 (1999). It's got only 70,000 miles on it. Was imported from Japan a few years ago.

I have notice something....When I am on a hill or stopped at a traffic light on a hilly road..the car moves back. I am sure that an automatic car is not supposed to roll back because when it's on 'D' it is always in first gear..

or am i just guessing..or i dont know anything about automatics..

    your help is most appreciated.

  14. I was prepared to go yuck and not like them, as I dont like alot of after market wheels (I grew up with Woolfie slot mags, IMHO never been beaten).

But these look really good, they suit the car well.

And getting them for 175 quid is a bargain, well done that man!

Are the tyres a lot lower than standard, and have they affected the ride?

Hi, the ride is the same and the tyres are not that low ...just regular low profile..
