  1. Has anyone else seen the Sportcross police car driving around Swindon?

I was on my way home tonight and had to do a double take as this police sportcross went past me. I didnt know blue lights were on the Lexus option list otherwise I would have had them.

  2. Car returned from dealer yesterday (they had it for two days), not very impressed with the long wait to get this sorted!

Anyhow they have not replaced front bumper but just resprayed it.

At the moment it looks "as new" but im a bit concerned this wont be a permanent fix, any thoughts?

Do you think I should have insisted on a full replacement bumper?

According to dealer this problem has happened before and they blame manufacturer, apparently there are two companies that supply styling kit and they have had problems with one of them.

  3. The wheels were supplied by Lexus UK and are from a car that was fitted with 18" wheels under the current 'styling-kit + 18" wheels for £750' offer.

    Hi Nige,

You probably had the original wheels from my IS200 Sport with styling kit!

  4. Took it to dealer so they could have a look, they claimed they had never seen this type of problem before and even checked another IS200 with styling kit. The same stress lines are appearing on the otherside as well but not as bad.

Dealer confirmed styling kit fitted at UK import centre, waiting for them to advise if front bumper can be replaced under warranty.

  5. i know how this has happened, when fitting, the TTE front bumpers can be a bit of a pain to fit..and need persuading into possitin, especially around the headlight/grill

Lexus styling kit fitted to car from new. From what you are saying it looks like they have forced it to fit, hence the marks

Poo rolls down hill and I live in a valley!!

Just noticed this on my front bumper, looks like stress or fracture marks. Car is only 10 days old!!

Any ideas what might cause this? Its going back to the dealer on Thursday.

In my cars short life its had an alloy replaced and a scratch touched up where dealer fluffed fitting Illuminated scuff plates

  7. Welcome to the club!

I have just exchanged my X reg IS200 Sport for a brand new one and there are a few differences:

    B) Rear light clusters smoke not silver (except Platinum Ice)

    B) Interior dash plastics softer to prevent glare and reflections

    B) 2 extra washer jets (6 in total instead of 4)

    B) New shape spoiler on Sport with integrated brake light

    B) Seats get piping around edges

    B) Apparently my blue car is lighter in colour than the older ones?

    B) Brake assist

<_< To deadlock doors you have to press keyfob twice instead of once

    B) Curtain shield front airbags

There are probably a few more but thats all I can think of ...:sleeping:

  8. Collected my new Strathcaron Blue IS200 Sport with styling kit and illuminated scuff plates yesterday :D :D :D

The car looks fantastic and I am very pleased with it, the scuff plates are so cooooool B)

Two minor dissappointments though, when the scuff plates were fitted by dealer the paintwork got scratched and one of the alloys has a tiny chunck out of it. Taking it back next week to get scratch sorted and alloy replaced.

The stereo doesnt seem to sound as good as the one in my old IS200 but overall I am very happy with the car. :D :D :D :D
