  1. When I was sold my 300h a couple of weeks ago to replace a 250 sel I was also told the wrong info, after investigation it turns out that the ML system in the 2013 300h has only a single loading CD drive, if you want movies then these can be played from a memory stick but only if you have a fairly recent verson of the firmware installed on the system.

The movie has to be a .avi

The video from the movie will only display if you have the parking brake on and are not moving.

  2. Whilst I was on the toyota site yesterday i noticed a Technical Service Bulletin labeled "Vibration and droning noise when driving".

It sounds like exactly what you are describing, its dated 27/07/2015

  3. As far as I know it cannot be done due to the IS250's Direct Injection Engine.

My car has a partial conversion, filler cap + all pipework, company discovered they could not do it mid-way through then had new owners and will not cover cost to rectify the big hole in my wing!

If anyone knows of a kit available for the IS250 I would love to get my car finished off.

  4. pretty standard, loads of info on the web, all you need to do is disconnect the speed pulse wire from back of unit (Pink) so the system thinks you are not moving, best put switch in this one as the nav is a bit lumpy without it and then you need to ground the red handbrake sense wire.

don't watch dvd's whilst driving as its dangerous + you will get nicked, i have only done it so the sat nav buttons work as i thing its less dangerous than having to stop on a motorway to change something, at least your passenger can do it for you!

  5. 1. It's behind the clock, use the 2 little screwdriver like things in the toolkit in the holes on the plastic to remove the panel, disc eject is in the menu's

    2. When you have the mirror selector switch either left or right (Not middle) the mirrors will dip when reverse is selected, if only one is going down then it sounds like you have a fault.

    3. there is a website you can go to for these (search the forum, been asked before), i think they are about £140, if you don't need really up to date then buy a year old one off someone who has just updated via eBay.

  6. Best guess is you have earthed the wrong side of the red wire, the side that goes into the sat nav needs to be earthed, the red wire that goes to the car can be left un-connected, hust make sure it is insulated so it does not short out onto anything.

I also found you can get away without touching the silver/white wire, just disconnecting the pink SPD signal wire is enough to enable the featues whilst driving.

I also added a switch on my dash!

  7. I had a very similar issue when I recently had a courtesy car for a day.

I had a memory stick full of MP3’s and I found if I put the memory stick in whilst the car was running it played fine, if I stopped the engine for instance at a petrol station, the mp3 playback would not resume until I had removed and reinserted the memory stick.

This was a little irritating but since I only had the car for a day I didn’t bother reporting it.

  8. the front dip & main are a bit of a pain, on the left the airbox gets in the way and on the right the washer filler pipe is up against the lights, both are pretty easy to move though.

The front fogs can only be got to once you have removed the wheel arch cover, front indicators are in there too!

the rear fogs are easy, just pop off the plastic cap on the boot lid behind the lights!

  9. My parking sensors have not been working correctly for a while now and I have just found the parking sensor ECU full of water, I am very happy I have located the fault, I just need the part now, I have had a look around the web and found some US sites stocking it, price ranging from $80 - $220, does anyone have a UK supplier they would recommend.

I have just removed the PCB & cleaned the mould off it with a brush and distilled water (Very smelly), I then gave it another clean with Tricoethelene to remove any residue.

I may be in luck and it may be ok, however if not I will need a new one.

    The part code is 89340-53020.

    Thanks

  10. I would like to replace the front indicator lamps with LED ones, I have done the back but I cannot see any way of getting to the front ones, in the book it just says take it to your local lexus dealer, are they really that difficult to do?

I have already replaced the flasher unit so they will flash at the correct speed - I had to make a bit of a hybrid unit out of both the old and new as the replacement unit on it's own did not flash the indicators when I locked the car.

  11. I am having exactly the same issues, see "Christmassy Dashboard" post!

My car alarm started going off randomly a few days ago, i can't wait till i drop it off at lexus for them to sort ALL the problems out

I am currently locking the car manually using the key under the plastic flap as that seems to lock the car without activating the alarm, well it has not gone off since i started doing it.

  12. the car is booked in for later on this month, the car itself performs exactly as before, just a bit annoying when the AC turns off + now i have driven it at night the fault also makes the dash think it's daytime and goes to full brightness.

The only saving grace is i bought a years extra warantee, i am sooooo glad i did, i was in two minds wondering if it was worth it.

  13. post-27676-128327428633.jpg

Following from driving home through very heavy rain last tuesday night on wednesday last week my AFS OFF light occasionally flashed, now over that last couple hunded miles more and more lights are lighting up randomly, picture below shows what I mean.

Please note in the picture the engine temp & outside temp, I took this after driving 30 miles whilst sitting in some traffic, when the outside temp does it's "E" thing the ac also starts blowing warm air.

This morning it really decided to go wrong, I had Check VSC, Oil Pressure Low & parking brake on at random points on my journey into work.

The car is booked in to Lexus Sidcup, really nice guys there but as I have requested a courtesy car the earliest they can fit me in is the 17th, my questions are:

    - As this fault must be related to driving home in the rain, something must have got wet that shouldn't off, is there a plug/socket/connector that I can check that may be the cause of this?

    - Is driving the car with this fault likely to cause damage, it still runs great but the lights and occasional loss of AC is starting to annoy me + when all the lights are on I can no longer stop the engine as the button does not work.

    - If the lights are on for the airbag does that mean if I have a crash they won't deploy?

    Thanks for any help

  14. hi everybody, i was just wondering whether an is250 can be lpg`d, and what are peoples experience with this.

need something fuel efficient, and a is220d is a no go.

    other option is a4 2.0tdi

    thanks, Anuj

Currently the direct injection engine that the 250 has cannot be converted, found this out to my cost as i have a partly converted car waiting on the kit to become available.

  15. My car is currently at a garage getting converted using a BRC system (could not afford the premium for Prins) and due to some mis-communication with regard to the injection type, everyone thought it was Multipoint when in fact it is Direct the conversion cannot take place.

Has anyone converted a Direct injection engine to lpg and if so what system was used and do they now have problems with the petrol injectors degrading due to the higher temperature as there is no petrol running through them?

    Thanks

    Ben

  16. I could never understand why Lexus chose green to indicate cold on the seat heating/cooling, surely if they had white led's available they could stick some blue LED's in the controller.

I had a few LED's laying around so i have changed the LED's in my car, whilst i was there I replaced the orange one with red, here are the results.
