1. been reading the old threads about the headlights coming on randomly with the car switched off, which my 2002 is300 has started doing, ive checked the fuse box and its all dry and none of the plugs are wet or corroded, i cant see any ingress of water.

ive taken off the windscreen panel to look, as some say its from where the wires for the heated screen are, but the 3 wires are bonded to the screen and then they go a plug that goes down towards the engine.

Can anyone tell me where to be looking for the leak?

p.s its been ok so far today and the lights havn't come back on.

  2. my lexus is300 had a repair back in the winter when the previous owner smacked a kerb and bent the wheel and suspension. i noticed the front hub arm has writing on it in pen. would this be normal for a new part.

theres an engineer from the insurance company coming to check and make sure the repairer did fit a new part.

    heres a pic

  3. ok thanks. i want to put a set of universal round centre caps on which ive seen a few io on here. but does anyone no the correct measurements to get, i odnt have a vernier to measeure only a ruler and i make the inside diameter about 60mm. all the other 3 are missing the lexus badges so want to change them all.

  4.
my 2002 is300 has lost a centre cap on the alloys. its got the 5 spoke 18inch i think trd wheels? i was going to get 4 universal caps but cant seem to find anywhere that does the right size which is think is 60mm internal. can anyone help. or would the standard 17inch is200 wheel centre caps fit.

  5. not had her long. replaced the clutch and 2 rear tyres but otherwise is mint had full respray last year. and wheels refurbed. ive added astra mk4 front splitter and an armrest and ipod and reversing camera.

    overall really happy.

i think the back needs lowering for a sport model it sits too high.

  6. my is200 starting with a clutch click which was play in the top of the pedal where the pin and r clip sit so ive added a washer to stop the sideways movement thats great now. but now ive noticed a creak when i depress the pedal which is coming from the gearbox. and also my release bearing is now squeaking until i lightly rest my foot on the pedal. and its really annoying can be heard inside and outside the car.

my guess is i need a new bearing. for now i have adjusted the stop at the top of the pedal so the pedal doesnt return as far as it did and so giving the same effect as me resting my foot slightly on the pedal. and the noise is gone. will this cause any problems.

and if i get a new bearing and clutch will i need anything else. the arm the bearing slides on maybe. as it seems this drys out??? or will this be ok.

    thanks scott

  7. hi there im new to the gs300 had an is200 a few years back and last week got a gs300 she has 180,000miles full lexus history one owner and is in exceptional condition for a 98 car even passed mot with no advisorys, but i have a few queries,

when i press the brakes i can hear a sort of woosh from under the bonnet as if the resouviour is refilling or something the brakes seem fine tho infact put new pads in it today. should i be worried.

also i seem to have really noisey tyres. its got budgets on it and im sure its them making the noise and not the bearings. its worse on some roads than others.

    thanks for your help.

    i love the car otherwise

    scott
