  1. im affraid to say the lexus has lost its appeal to m. its lovely and comfortable to drive but it lacks some drive and power. i havent even owned it for 2 months and im seriously bored of it!!

i have just been to put a deposit down on a 2003 astra gsi so got shift the lexus now!! just want to say thanks to people who have helped me with some problems, mainly aztecbandit!!!

    cheers people

  2. how the **** are you supposed to take the plug out of the back of the amplifier?? ive stripped as much of the surrounding area down to give me room to work but just aint happening. the amplifier hardly moves so you cant get your hand behind it. cut all the ties, undone the brackets, taken the bottom panel out. and still cant give myself enough room to get my hand in there!!

how the hell did people sort theres??

  3. Yes, what you bought on eBay is a standard Toyota adapter which will work for IS200 models without the additional amp.

Have you got the extra amp ? It's hidden behind the glovebox on the left side of the car. If you have an SE or Sport model then you'll have it. In which case you'll need an amp bypass lead like this one, which as the name suggests, bypasses the amp and connects the new head unit to the speakers etc.

If you have OEM satnav then you will also need an extra box of tricks to make your satnav work with the aftermarket head unit. If you don't have OEM satnav then you don't need that (but still need the amp bypass lead).

Here is a walkthrough and pics about attaching the amp bypass lead, which also shows where the amp is in the first place. You don't need to remove the amp afterwards, but it won't be doing anything any more.

and i thought it was going to be easy!! im now into my 2nd week of fitting a new headunit lol. no i dont have satnac. ive got an SE model so shall purcahse the amp by-pass lead!! gutted though, another few days of radio :(

thanks for your help steve! much appreciated!

  4. hi there. ive got an alpine headunit which id like to fit to the lexus. bought a fascia and that fits perfectly. so went down to Halfords and thought id be a clever **** and buy the toyota adaptor lead, got home tried to fit it, fitted the headunit but wouldnt fit the car. got onto eBay and found one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=150333199627 thought PERFECT, turned up today, exactly the same plugs as the one from Halfords. on reading the eBay listing it says it fits non amplified is200's only. im baffled as i didnt think mine had an amp as the sound quality is rather poor!! would this all suggest different? and if so what lead do i need now??

  5. Yeah, same colour as mine too. Nice ride mate. You got any plans for mods or are you keeping it original???

yeh i got quite a few plans

    18' kei force 10's

    lexus sports grill

    tein street coilovers

    tinted headlights

custom twin exit 3' exhaust system

and in time a s/c if i can find one lol

  6. You can get the projector/halo headlights from ebay. They also do right hand drive versions. Although i've heard the quality is poor.

If you're brave enough try a projector retrofit or just customize your own lights!

    i want some projector headlights.

could you point me in the direction of these please rich??

  7.  sorry for the bad news mate :D

if i went for a set of 19's which are 5 stud

    would 5 x 120 et 45 8.5j fit??

    please say so!!

Sorry again mate but no :whistling: You need a wheel with the stud pattern of 5x114.3 or they wont fit on the hubs due to the stud pattern :whistling:

gutted :( guess its going to have to be brand new then!!

  8. No matey, you need 5x114.3 et40-50? in an 18" wheel running 225/40/18 tyres :)

Have a look HERE! mate for the wheel size guide to give you a basic idea :)

    gay gay gay gay!!!

found an el minto set of kahn rs-s to put on as well!! tyres aint a problem at all :( wheels are just way too confusing!!
