  1. I bought a Toyota>ISO adapter to test with a view to changing out my radio and when I tried it the subwoofer did not work. I suspect the subwoofer amplifier takes its feed from the OEM radio. I don't know which wire harness you were looking at so couldn't say that you would experience the same.

It would probably be easier to install a separate amplifier rather than try to figure out how convert the aftermarket radio signal to whatever the OEM sub amplifier needs to operate.

    Thats my intention anyway.

  2. Thanks, I am enjoying it. Not sure how long the 20mpg will be fun, but so far, so good.

I intentionally bought cheap as I have always wanted to try an LS ever since they were first introduced, but I wanted a car I could walk away from should a big repair bill hit the mat. I think the filthy condition of the car was the main reason for the low price, but a weekend spent cleaning it has turned up a gem. I finally had a look through the service receipts a couple days ago and it is shocking how much money the first owner spent on the car.

  3. In aircon systems I have had experience of in the past, if the ambient temperature is too cold the compressor won't engage. Not sure if this is also the case with the LS, but I can't see it being any different as it is a safety measure to prevent compressor damage.

Last regas I had done (on a previous car) was at Kwik-Fit for about £40. Normally I wouldn't go near Kwik-Fit, but all they are doing is connecting the machine, entering details of the car and the machine automatically measures and recharges the system. They aren't doing any actual "work" on the car so pretty hard to mess it up.
